oOple Euro 2009 Thread

Well it's that wonderful time of the year again, this thread is about as official as it can get for the rest of the world without it actually being official. This thread also turns out to be one of the most popular threads of the summer for those competing in the event and for those who are just interested in finding out what is happening.

So for starters i am flying out from stanstead on the Saturday lunchtime flight (easyjet) but i will be in the bar from approx 9am will i see anyone in there ?:)

I'll be there from the Saturday about 10am latest I would have thought. On the ferry with the family, Tom Yardy, Glyn Ward, Whyman and the Animal (I mean Gaz Stanton).

Ferry leaves on Thursday at 8pm and gets in Saturday 8am, get out of customs and find the hotel!

bigred5765 09-07-2009 09:59 PM

jonesy was the ferry dear? pm me if you want

Jonesy 09-07-2009 10:03 PM

I'd like to say I know Carl but not sure mate. Dad sorted out and I'm paying monthly for everything!

Think from memory it turned out to be around £1,300 for mum, dad, me, the wife and baby, don't quote me on that though...

matdodd 09-07-2009 10:10 PM

Me & Tony will be in the Bar about 12 on Sunday:)

Belsten 13-07-2009 11:27 AM

Im still after a room share if anyone fancies it ?

Lee 14-07-2009 10:24 AM

If anyone wants in on a bulk tyre purchase let me know, i will be doing some enquiring tomorrow, obviously the more we have to buy the better deal we should be able to get :)

MiCk B. 14-07-2009 10:27 AM

What tyres are people planning on bringing with them?

All yellows or a mixture?

MiCk B. :-)

Lee 14-07-2009 10:31 AM

Personally i was going to get mainly yellows and a couple of sets of greens, just in case it is damp/wet/sodden

Belsten 14-07-2009 11:09 AM

Lee I would be interested in buying some too
Does anyone know if the tyre rule applies to both axles or just the rear ala BRCA rules ? Ive got loads of front minispike 1's

Belsten 14-07-2009 11:27 AM

It does apply to the front of 4wd

Lee 14-07-2009 11:34 AM

Yeah i was going to say "driven wheels" I suppose it keeps things simple though.

22 sets of yellow rears 11 2wd mini spike yellow front spikes 11 stagger ribs
22 sets of green rears 11 2wd green fronts

11 4wd yellow fronts 11 4wd green fronts.

99 pairs should see you right :woot:

Bargain

Add more if you intend on making the A, personally im not planning on it this year, i need to keep the tyre bill to a minimum :woot:

bigred5765 14-07-2009 12:05 PM

you not going with a set a run then lol

Lee 15-07-2009 10:14 AM

If anyone wants to order their tyres as part of a bulk buy with myself and a few others could you let me know asap, im going to put out a few queries this afternoon to see what we can get them for.

On a seperate note, who is taking their WAGs?

Belsten 15-07-2009 10:17 AM

im travelling on my jack, catching the 7:30 flight from stansted on the sunday, getting a taxi from the airport to hotel if anyone fancies sharing thats on the same flight ?

ben 15-07-2009 11:40 AM

Gonna take enough yellows for a set a run.... you can always bring some back ;)

Lee 15-07-2009 11:42 AM

How many runs do we get i have forgotten, i guessed at 11 in each class not counting 3 leg A's and the warm up A

ben 15-07-2009 11:58 AM

Think lawson said it was like 3 practices, 5 qualifiers and a final?

bigred5765 15-07-2009 12:22 PM

im pretty sure thats what it was at the last one we went to,

Mossy 15-07-2009 01:43 PM

Normally atleast 5 practices on the first day, then 2 more on the second day plus 3 qualifiers. Last day normally one mini practice, 2 more rounds of qualifying and 1 final, unless u make the A then obviously a practice final and 3 legs.

14 if your not in the A, 17 if you are.
