What do these numbers mean?????

Anyhow....... Im 4wd tonight.

I'll apologise for getting in peoples way now for tonight, but Im trying some new stuff with my tamiya, and Im running new full spikes.

We'll need to find another way of slowing Tim down, now he's overcome that Acoms 2.4ghz inhibitor we installed in the hall.

the acoms 2.4 only scanns 40 channels instead of spektrums 80 ! So in other words it's pants !

My tyres are almost bald on the front and the back are not to hot either so I will be sliding about a bit !

Kriss 07-07-2009 11:11 AM

Arite lads, I will be there tonight with my new brushless in:D looking forward to it!

Whats this plan with the full spikes like Chris??? We all used to run them at oxclose a fews years back and you got loads of grip! But, I dont think they are as responsive as mini's.....ive got a set in house, will bring them along as well see what their like;)

Full spikes are crap. Mini's are far better. Think me brand new BJ4 will be out tonight now... Might have some teething troubles with it though...

6 o'clock track building commences and racing usually starts about 7.20...

dayxwalker 07-07-2009 01:05 PM

There's a massive thread in the jarrow section on the full vs mini spikes ! Lol I suggested we all use them to save cost as they last ages but enough said on that one lol anyway we will have to rethink the tyres when we get kicked out of jarrow. Cannot be to far away ?

chrispattinson 07-07-2009 01:06 PM

Full spikes work really well, aslong as they're worn in a bit - it usually takes a week or so to wear them in.

Mini spikes are good, but dont last as long.

Your the proof Chris that slow and steady wins the race... We should be getting more carpet down and racing on pins...

chrispattinson 07-07-2009 02:51 PM

Try Fast and consistent ........... slow and steady  Nothing slow about my car.

Kriss 07-07-2009 03:33 PM

Alright girls put the hadbags away:p I think a control tyre isnt a bad idea like! A set of fulls will last about 3 months maybe more. Everyone must be 'for' the idea of only having to shell 15 quid on tyres every 3 month??!!!

The cars are that quick now with the brushless/lipos that they extra drag with the fulls cant slow us down much!

One other very important point about full spikes....!! THEY SOUND CLASS!:woot:haha

Kriss 07-07-2009 03:43 PM

Ok just had a glance at the previous epic thread!haha i may have just opened a can of worms........:p woops!

N7ELA 07-07-2009 10:09 PM

brilliant night tonight guys. my car was crap all night but came alive in the final... bring on the weekend...

Well done steven, you were flying tonight. I might have caught you if your team mate didn't land on me from a high 3 laps in.....

Its shaping up for a good series...

dayxwalker 08-07-2009 04:44 AM

Think this is a good idea, anyone else agree?

dayxwalker 08-07-2009 08:26 AM

I did a lap with part worn full spikes and I have to say they did not grip to well ! The car was sliding a lot
That said if we all used them !
But we have had this discussion .....

My interferance problems continued as usual even with a brand new spektrum set ! 175 notes but I do love the feel of the system when it was not doing it's own thing every 3 laps or so !
At least my dad got a race he wasn't half bad considering it was his first race lol had the car turned down to 30% lol
here's the link to the A-Final again as it's on page 1 and might get missed
if anyone knows the finishing order I can update the clip

Excellent turnout last night. We did well to get through 16 races.

Really enjoyed the racing, and the video Tim posted shows how quick the pace was..... top stuff. Hope you get the interference sorted though.

Sorry about jumping and landing on your car Neil, it wrecked my race, as I lost concentration and confidence after that. It looks like on the replay, you and Chris slowed up on the jump, and I .... didnt.

B final was really good aswell.......... can't beleive the standard of racing in the B final. Its getting prgressivly harder to make the A!

Well done to Stephen for the win.

chris68nufc 08-07-2009 02:00 PM

Cheers chris for that confidence boost. I was crap last night. May well be that I have to find a setup that suits me rather than use a cloned setup!! Excellent turnout again as said before. I think it's a good idea of having just 6 cars in the a final as it makes things a lot more competative. Bring on next week if I can get there!!

N7ELA 09-07-2009 07:23 PM

Why o why is the Greens BJ4 just sitting there in the middle of the track int final. Did you break it chris..???

cmgreen 10-07-2009 07:07 AM

Na, thought it would be a good idea to put new tyres on the rear, cos i was struggling with a little bit of ova steer, turned out not to be a gud idea. Car was allova the place!!
