Are they laser-etched logos on the CVDs ?! Talk about bling:cool:

I wonder how much it's gonna cost ...

jimmy 05-03-2007 12:04 AM

CVD's ? did I miss that?

Do you mean the hinge pin blocks?

I think I mean CVDs:confused: I've never understood why they're called that though, so I'm probably wrong. I mean the long thin thingys that make the turny-turny from the engine into turny-turny at the wheels. Check out the rear left on this picture:

blimey - you're right! its the CVD bone really, I was looking at the actual CVD joint - getting my excuses in now hehe..

I got some photos of the bones (from a spares box) and couldnt see anything on those - I wonder if these on the car are the final ones with added bling tho?

How did it look on the track up against/compared to the BJ4?

jimmy 05-03-2007 01:19 AM

not bad - but in all honesty Adam was trying stuff out on what is still an unfinished car (in terms of setup etc). He also seemed to be trying to test the cars breaking point by crashing like a maniac! :D

Certainly looks to be capable package. I'd like to see inside those shocks and see how easy to adjust that slipper is and what range of adjustment it has.

Thankyou for the kind words Jim....'Crashing like a maniac', I think you are being far too generous here... I drove like a #### all day. Apart from practice..... I'll have to get Diane to rig up the loop for practice in future.....

Bling Driveshafts: Yep they do come with the Logo printed on them in the kit...

Undertray & Front wing also in the kit. I've not been running one (undertray that is) as it only turned up on Fri and there seemed no reason to run it indoors.

Setup: The car never had 2 runs with the same set-up on... I seemed to get near in round 3 then the driveshaft pin fell out.... Piss poor prep. I think my tyres were past their best after that and I had no others with me...

Overall, fairly happy with the way it went.

;)

Thats a lovely paint job there adam, who did you that?.......

and I've got one of the 'proper' shells to paint (if jimmy had a smiley, blobbing its tongue out it would be inserted here!), and I must admit, it looks pretty cool, a few little changes here and there but keeps the 'style'.

some more pics....really ready to see this buggy in person.

cabbynate 16-04-2007 04:55 AM

It appears to have Losi wheels on it. I wonder if HPI will keep it universal this way? It would sure sway me into getting one if my Losi wheels/tyres would fit.

photos of my finished car prior to its successful debut on the 89 worlds track at st ives on the weekend. D4's ended up 1st and 2nd.....

Ron Burgundy 07-05-2007 04:52 AM

how bad does the D4 body look!

Keep JCONCEPTS in business and dont use a D4 body!:)

GRIFF55 07-05-2007 08:21 AM

That does look like a bj4 shell, not the same as my D4!!!
Drove my car on its first outing today at the Tiverton meeting, Tq and win:) . Very impressed with the car right out of the box it handled superb. Loving those gills/vents on the shell.
Cant get pics up yet, but will try again later:(

Ron, are you commenting on the body in the picture from Ben27111937?

I think that is a JConcepts body.....

Personally I think the D4 shell is the best looking 4WD shell available.

Ron Burgundy 08-05-2007 11:49 PM

Sorry Jamesy I was not refering to Ben's body, more the D4 body in general. I was though refering to how much better ben's Jconcepts body looks than the D4 above in photos.

(I know ben well and was in the background watching the photos being taken)

Each to their own though!;)

rc123 09-05-2007 07:20 AM

i prefer the d4 body to the bj4. it has a uniqueness about it. i never liked it at first, but starting to like it alot more now

Here's mine, What do you think?

gramey 09-05-2007 09:58 PM

:) That looks nice in a refreshingly understated way rather than some of the over the top garish paint jobs you see.
GRIFF55 are you a team driver or privateer? Reason I ask is I've ordered a D4 from my LHS and I didn't know when they are being released to the shops, have I got long to wait?:)

looks good. I just applied the second coat of liquid mask to my D4 body. am going to paint up a new scheme on it and a new JC B4 body.

I guess if they dont come out rubbish I will run them otherwise my BJ body will have to stay on the D4 :)

gramey 28-06-2007 09:52 PM
