I debuted, TQ:ed and won the race with my S2 SWB, a big big thank you to Atomic Carbon for making this possible!
SHY ended 3rd with his S2, it also looked good the entire race!

A good TQ for me in 4wd with the Atomized B44. I then went on to win the 1st leg, ended 2nd in A-final 2 and after leading the first 2 minutes of the last leg I landed a double jump just to see the shock pop off the tower, result being that the shock spring caught on the shock mounting screw so that left front a-arm lifted off the ground. Of course I could not compete limping around like that so I ended 4th in the leg and 2nd overall behind the winner Kjell Gunnar Guttormsen (KGG)

I changed the rear spring to red and ended with the blue one up front, but besides that it was SPOT ON! ;-)

Yo Thomas, I heard you had good results yourself this weekend, especially taking the amount of time since you last race into consideration!?

Now for the weight it's kinda weird I think...
I have a full size heavy servo (AE's XP1015) with 35g of lead under it, I have the brass front posts and the GHEA brass bulkhead. Then I had 20g stuck to the bottom rear of the shock tower, and finally I use the heavier ROAR batteries (ca. 295g) and race ready with this setup it was 1525'ish with the Schumacher Mini Spikes all around.
It felt very good like that but it might be too front heavy, it was ca. 38/62 percentage wise front/back.

Then I removed the rear 20g and instead tried using a lead plate under each lipo, they weighed 68g each but it didn't change the percentages that much, it was still 37/63 but the total weight was up to 1645'ish. and it also felt good like that! I could not really make up my mind which was the better and even lap times was very similar.

Of course I should mention that the astro turf was a bit damp in the morning with terrific grip levels, then as it dried out and got hot, lost grip during the day and in the evening as the dmap came back it got grippy again. I drove the absolute best lap time in the evening at 1525'ish but of course I forgot to try with the extra weight in the evening...

So I am not sure how to run it, need to do more testing to make up my mind on the weight thing :)

Overall I have to say the car felt fantastic!

SHY: why do you have the shocks on the wrong side of the rear tower?

Have you guys tried running X-6 wing and wing mounts? Works very well by all acounts :thumbsup:

No I haven't, are the plastic issue with the wing mounts solved by now? If I remember correct there were issues were you had to modify them to get them flat side to side?

No modification with the Mount at all Råjjman.

It is not neccesary to modify the wing mounts, it depends how fusy you are. I prefer to cut off the nipples and drill and tap the top so you can mount the wing with a screw fastener instead of a R clip.

I got the S2 working much better than the X-6 on this track (tried 2 times with the X-6). Probably just me setting the X-6 up wrong though...

The Atomized B44 was very good to drive (smooth), but it lacked a lot of steering... so I lost too much time in the tight corners compared to a std. B44.

So time for a quick update. I finished the third round of the Norwegian nationals in 2nd position after TQ'ing the qualifying. Blaming nerves might be stupid, but considering I had the chance to seal the '09 title with two out of two wins earlier in the season I have to admit my head was messed up when it came to the finals in this round...
However, the 2nd place position did the job for me, so now the Atomic Carbon S2 SWB is the Norwegian National Champion for 2009! This third round was held on a brand new large (274meters long) open dirt/clay track. So now I can relax going into the last round at SHY's home turf in Oslo last weekend in September :)

Adding to that we are looking pretty good also for the 2wd Swedish Summer Cup this year, currently a tied 1st with the Final round to go next weekend!
