carter_213 05-06-2009 09:31 PM

I hear 'team toe out' are making some painted grass flaps? Ill be running them at the weeekend as a full toe out factory driver :)

blitzboy 05-06-2009 09:33 PM

hahahahaha might want to go toe in carter its better from behind lmao

telboy 05-06-2009 09:49 PM

I've got sod all tyres for the wet. :(

I've got some BB greens but think the long spikes work better. :(

Bugger.

blitzboy 05-06-2009 09:52 PM

i ve got a spare set of schumy greens buddy if your desperate bb greens would be a sarter for me though

RSharpy 06-06-2009 07:52 AM

Open tyre rule lads :o Looks like our Dave will be scoring high points at this one, no doubt he'll have his CAT spikes at the ready, yes you know the ones! The ones he ran at Holbeach last year

shark 06-06-2009 08:42 AM

Looking at the weather I think paddles might be the only option :woot:

sime46 06-06-2009 09:34 AM

If its pi###ng down I think I'm gonna give it a miss. Not a fan of standing in the rain all day only to get home and fully rebuild the car before bedtime. Not funny.:( I've been looking forward to racing all week tho so maybe some blu-tak and wd40 may save the day. Just need an umbrella girl to follow me around all day!

telboy 06-06-2009 09:36 AM

I've got the umbrella!!

deepdale11 06-06-2009 09:38 AM

yeah, we should pay some young ladies to come and hold umbrella up for us all...lol

sime46 06-06-2009 10:13 AM

Not being funny Tel....but I had something a little more feminine in mind. Sorry.

captain-codpiece 06-06-2009 01:35 PM

So what is the general theme for waterproofing cars then?

blitzboy 06-06-2009 02:11 PM

blue tak and gt85 for me never let me down

antnee 06-06-2009 02:42 PM

Bluetac, ballons, bluetac, grease, blue tac, cable ties

Ballons are great though, make sure you have some good double-sided tape too

telboy 06-06-2009 04:23 PM

I'm not a big fan of balloons. They creat condensation and therefor you still end up with water on the elec's.
I blew a receiver at london like this once, and have never use 'em since.

I just use blutak.
Some people use a silicone based putty too.

captain-codpiece 06-06-2009 04:40 PM

Hmmmm ok. Sorry for sounding dense but whereabouts do you strategically place the blu tac? Somebody should invent a massive rubber sock that goes over the entire car, except the wishbones and wheels. Like a giant condom on wheels.

bigred5765 06-06-2009 04:49 PM

blue tak goes over the sensor wire on speedo and motor, and there is a big rubber sock that can be used over the speedo its called a balloon, lol

Hi Mid-East peeps....

The Mid-West regional for tomorrow has been cancelled. Is it possible for a few of us to book in on the day and race in the non-points scoring heats?

telboy 06-06-2009 06:25 PM

Not sure how the spare heats work. So wouldn't know.
Jim will have to let you know.

Attention all!
I'm on the cadge again for power. :) I doubt I'll be there early enough to bag some of the power from the club house, so If anyoune has a spare socket going from a genny or similar then it would be very much appreciated. :)

I have a 50m extension, so don't have to sit with you if you don't like me.:woot:

Im sure it is. There are open heats catered for and there are only 2 in the 4wd open heat so far and none in the 2wd so I would say yes.

captain-codpiece 06-06-2009 07:02 PM

It hasn't rained for the last 4 hours here, so fingers crossed for tomorrow.

carter_213 06-06-2009 07:28 PM

Im 10 minutes from the track and it hasnt rained here all day :) Im not holding my breath tho!

Unfortunately todays regional at West Brigford was cancelled.

I would like to express my thanks to the West Brigford crew who managed to find another, very good venue in such a short time and built what looked to be a cracking track, shame the weather wasn't with us.

I hope you guy's can try and retian the venue and we get to run the meeting later this year.

Oh and the bacon butties were well worth the journey :D :D :D

I've emailed some dates to Rob Jaques and I'm waiting to hear back from him.

Thanks

telboy 07-06-2009 06:21 PM

Shame about the weathewr though.

Could we not just have open practice for half an hour when the weather forcast is a bit dodgy? Then we might at least get some racing in before the rain hits?

Shame we couldn't start earlier (obviously appreciate the residential situation) that way we could have got 2 rounds in before the rain. :(

Thanks to Rob etc. for the work they put in though.:)
