Durango DEX410 - Teaser shots
Team Durango released some teaser photos of their amazing-looking upcoming electric 4WD buggy, the DEX410 - the long awaited 'Durango' production car. The buggy is now slated for release around the end of June '09 but more details will appear over the next few weeks.
The shots (below) show the gear boxes with sealed gear differentials that can be tuned to track conditions. Companies interested in distribution or retail of Team Durango products should contact [email protected]" |
wow that looks like a fish from above!!
looks real nice, any idea on price? |
Price?
One can live just fine with only one kidney, right? ;) |
There's no final price set - but the designer said they were looking at ~400euro
|
:wub:wub:drool: Thats a bit nice isn't it!! Shame they've not kept the yellow wheels like in the first few pics released:(
|
:wub:wub:wub can't say anything else
|
Wow:drool:
The end of the ball diff is nigh! Funny how some things come full circle. |
1/8th scale rallycross diff's in an electric 1/10th buggy
Glad I kept all my diff oils when I sold my Losi 8ight earlier this year. Only problem I can see is weight, oil filed diffs are heavy and very time consuming to change at the meeting! but looks good though!! |
Naw that its a new buggy !!!!:D Nice

On the second pic, it looks like some army guys face looking out from the cock pit window. LOL
|
EUR 400.-?! That's approx 180.- less than I expected, way cheaper than a TRF501X here in Germany. If it was not overkill for the stock motors I use and need saddle packs, I'd say I'll definately get one, but the way it is, I've got to consider things carefully. I'll need a small ESC, saddle lipos, another servo...and some towels to wipe that drool away!
|
i hope its only drool
|
 What else would it be?! :p
|
the prototype had an aluminium chassis, the car on the shelf will have a plastic or carbon chassis.
Won't that affect the performance? I other words, will the Durango meet the abilities the prototype had? |
Lowie, were are you getting the plastic or carbon chassis from i haven't heard anything about this  and this is a quote from durango's website.
Extra thick front & rear carbon-fibre shock absorber towers Aluminium Chassis with perfect weight distribution Quick release battery mount (Sub-C/LiPo) Easy access metal gear differentials Quick release spur-gear Adjustable vented slipper clutch Rubber shock & driveshaft boots Race winning handling and speed! |

This isn't correct - the car you see is the car you get. |
400eur = 345.961 GBP
About what I expected really. Wasn't going to be cheap with the quality. :) |
worryingly, that's about £50.00 cheaper than an X11-08.
|
where did you see the price release tel? cheers
|
It's in post no5 Andy
|
oops:blush: I thought that was a final price released somewhere.
Cheers E |
Calm down:lol: all good things come to those who wait
|
Received this in my mail just now:
Dear Friend of Team Durango, We have just sent details of prices and availability for the DEX410 to the press. Please look out for them on your favourite R/C news website! |
Agh, press releases should not use a format like .docx!
|
Jimmy
May be of some use not actually tried them yet:-
|
Cheers mate, I've converted it now - it's strange but I'm certain one line of text copied and pasted from a normal .doc file doesn't add up to 15,000 characters. But from .docX it does! Grrrreat! haha.
So I once I found a reader, I had to copy and paste into notpad to remove all the hidden formatting - and 15000 invisible characters - and then reformat it for the press release.. boooo! Anyway, 450ukp - more than expected but that's the way of the economy right now. Anyone who complains (and once you SEE the car, you really can't) can wait for the 'R' version which is inline with other 4wd buggies in terms of price and spec. |
good on you jimmy - not converted from docx before so not aware of the hidden characters issue...job done though so nice one (from me and everyone waiting to hear about the durango)
