Anyone got a link for a download?

So i can view live results at Osfest and the rest of the BRCA Off-Road Nats..

Thanks in advance

Just connect to the network at the meeting, go to IE and type in: brca2009
That brings up the BBK screen with the download link. ;)

super__dan 13-05-2009 09:39 PM

Took us most of sat to download the file, then despite having a wireless connection to the BRCA router it wouldn't work. Worked for others though, maybe signal was too weak where we were?

DCM 13-05-2009 09:42 PM

they were having issue's, I was pitting right next to race control, and was getting a low signal...

Southwell 14-05-2009 07:16 AM

I think the AP really needs to be put up on the rostrum or something.

njc11 14-05-2009 08:36 AM

Yep i had same issues also... couldnt connect even when stood next to the caravan

Hopefully will all be sorted for Oz...

Spoke to Paul sat evening at Talywain.. the BRCA have invested quite abit in new equipment..so hopefully all will be sorted for next national..

Cheers

Nick

Interesting.
Chris Hardisty went on a "pit walk" early Sunday PM and reported no issues. In fact he stated that many people had really quick Polling times.
The AP was situated on the roof of the caravan so should have been able to broadcast anywhere to the pits. Was the rostrum in a direct line of site between you and the caravan? If so, the metal of the rostrum may have some effect.
It was strange that many people could connect without issue, but as has been stated, some couldn't connect standing next to the caravan.
I will try and site the AP higher at Oz.

Not all laptops have decent wireless capabilities. We have three types at work, one will only sniff 3 AP's at a time, the Dells will sniff over 10 at any one time as the cards/aerials are better. It's possible the Caravan was also affecting the signal getting through to some users. It might be worth considering setting up two AP's at different locations to spread the amount of users on the system, the more users on the AP the more stressed it will become and cause possible dropouts, etc.

As a last thought it might be worth trying a different wireless channel.
1, 6 and 11 are the standards.

dave

I'd imagine you would need a net interface, rather than a program. Im not sure if they are used at nationals.

dave g 15-05-2009 09:46 AM

right,so the race directors would to transmit that data seperate then just for pda's?

Hi All

Wirless and PDA programs Can be found on the BBK website there are 2 types BBKNETSCREEN and an IE result Screen

For Laptops and some PDA

Go to bbk website and Download the exact netscreen for the Software Being Used (ie bbk2006 needs 2006 netscreen)

For the result screen just goto the ip address the router is sending

Hope this Helps

Glyn

PS Some Wirless Routers do some weird things and some PDA can connect and some Cannot its also a line of sight issue and signal strength and belive it or not 2.4 Ghz does some weird stuff also
