Midwinter Madness

Anybody fancy a bit of outdoors action on Sunday? I see Bury are running outdoors all winter and there's a meeting on Sunday 30th.

I've only raced there once before and it turned out to be my costliest meeting (in terms of spares) but what the hell......you only live once :D

he has a touring car in his cellar... NEXT to the 'real cars'... it might infect them too!!

brings the tone of the whole room town!

jimmy 28-10-2005 04:24 PM

Ive been exposed as a secret snoring car owner!!! its popular you know chris, a lot of buggyers have them hidden away, like a dirty little secret

jimmy 28-10-2005 06:32 PM

wtf, you are a buggy-er em! what are you doing! and you take the mick out of me!!

Will Olpin 29-10-2005 07:51 AM

Hey don't diss the TC it's awsome racing i do it more than off-road at the moment and its great....sure you have got the jumps but still great fun :!:

Oscar 29-10-2005 09:39 AM

you'll never learn throttle control the same with a TC as a buggy, They just have loads of grip and not much else to do but occassionally turn the steering because you get to a corner 8)

chrislee 29-10-2005 12:10 PM

Are you up for it then John or what? :D

PS - what's this throttle control all about? You mean it's not just on or off?

Chris

Heyhoe 30-10-2005 03:36 PM

Try Racing 12th scale on-road. Now thats throttle control.

I went through two cars because i thought there was something wrong with them becuase they just kept spinning under power

I do!! And my first try with mine was with a 10 double and ZERO additive. Now THAT was fun. On slippyish carpet too and at Teesside before the floor was levelled (VERY bumpy...).

jimmy 30-10-2005 06:18 PM

But you emileh, are a superstar. Its gotta be a nasty track for me to beat the likes of you, unless I take you out on purpose, again. :albino:

chrislee 30-10-2005 08:17 PM

So where were you today Mr Storey? An excellent days racing was had by all. I've only raced once indoors but it's great to get back outside again

Chris

jimmy 30-10-2005 09:22 PM

i call it pure lazyness chris!! but it looked a nice day today, wish i'd gone! :( had the zx5 in bits and doing some photos and stuff- thats my excuse

RobHatcliffe 12-12-2005 08:17 PM

Another chance for an outdoor race this Sunday, 3rd round of the Bury Metro winter series. Booking in around 12.30, 2wd or 4wd.

Still don't know why Rog christened them "Ski Sunday's", we're in Manchester for God's sake, should be "Rainy racedays" !!!

Come on over, should be a larff.

Rob

youre brave frostbite, hypothermia etc.

Saying that ice racing is highly entertaining, considering the idea of going up myself.

The only other options are 12th at tamworth or in bed nursing a hangover :drunken:

chrislee 13-12-2005 11:11 AM

Rob, it coincides with the Teesside Aces meeting - I've seen, on racechat, that Mr Long may be going there and probably a few others as well.

Chris

jimmy 13-12-2005 11:30 AM

If the weathers sunny and dry i might come over
can non brca racers race ? my wife hasn't got her licence yet nor has she masterd the art of driving in a straight line, or indeed, any line.

emzy 13-12-2005 08:02 PM

OR you could come to Teesside Jimmy... and I could find a way down then I can teach Vickeh to drive... ahem... you know it makes sense.

And OI, don't doubt the power of girl!

RobHatcliffe 13-12-2005 10:30 PM

No prob with non BRCA Jimmy, you'll both be very welcome if you choose to venture over to Bury on Sunday.

If Vicky has trouble keeping it in straight line I'll solve that by building a track that's all corners!

See you soon.

jimmy 13-12-2005 10:41 PM

haha
I wouldnt mind it em, but if the weathers ok i'd rather be able to get some decent photos :) Im not really up to doing some serious racing but it would be a laugh to get some photos of vickeh crashing! :) oops, i mean racing..

Oscar 13-12-2005 11:33 PM

Bury's Ski Sunday could be fun, don't suppose you've got creché facilities since my last visit have you Rob??

Can I come too? Monday mornings at school really don't matter... *wink wink*

RobHatcliffe 14-12-2005 09:07 AM

No creche facilities as yet John, maybe it's something to be discussed at the next committee meeting. If you have a child-minding problem for Sunday maybe we could ask Roger to dress up as a clown and entertain your little 'un whilst the racing is on

Hope to see you Sunday

jimmy 14-12-2005 10:37 AM

More the merrier Em!
hopefully wont be pi$$ing down! I fancy racing my zx5 and hopefully breaking something.

Oscar 15-12-2005 09:15 AM

why would Roger need to dress up if Em's coming ?

andys 15-12-2005 05:51 PM

My Monday part was that I would have to find my own way to / from the Buryish area...ie I'd probably stay with Vicky and Jimmy on the Sat or Sun night and get the train home on the Monday morning... and miss school *shame*

But obviously not going to happen. :(

RobHatcliffe 15-12-2005 08:36 PM

Paul - Shame you can't make it this week, it's shaping up to be a good meeting. Next Winter Series race meeting is January 22nd, hope to see you then

Andy - I think Chris was referring to an earlier round. There is an outdoor meeting at Bury this week (18th Dec). Booking in at around 12.30, everyone welcome, 2wd or 4wd.

Because your a shandy drinking part timer ?

Only joking Andy, Bury fixtures are at http://www.bury-metro-rcc.currantbun.com/Calendar.htm
I am hoping to go myself, depending on a) the Weather, b) is anyone brave enough to look after my kids on Sunday.

P_B 16-12-2005 12:50 PM

I'll pop down to Bury for a few laps if a) the weather is okay and b) I survive the work Christmas do on Saturday night!

RobHatcliffe 18-12-2005 07:03 PM

Thanks to John and Jimmy for coming over to Bury today, really appreciate you making the effort. Hope you enjoyed yourselves, and hope that the Pred is feeling better soon Jiimmy!!

jimmy 18-12-2005 07:58 PM

it was a good laugh have to say, I enjoyed it all apart from the clean up of that pred, thats gonna be fun since ive been up till 5am building the thing once today.
Still better than racing on a bit of old carpet though int it.. shame I didnt have sun for the pred photos but hey, it int california is it.
