Big car tyres
Hi all,
I need some recommendations for some tyres for the Vectra, 1.9 Cdti. Need to be suitable for towing the caravan too! Cheers, G |
big black round ones with nobbly bits on them
|
Can that be translated to: can anyone get me tyres cheap boss
|
I think I know where I can get them at a good price chief, it's just knowing what to get.
Need to have strong sidewall shizz going on for towing or summat  The ones on it aren't, and feel a bit like Ballistics! G |
|
i recomend that you buy some that are better than the one's you currently have, as the last time i drove the car it was positively dangerous !!!!!

Cheers Nick , but which ones?

im wondering if there is a set called maximum best :woot::woot:
|
If your after sidewall strength then these were recomended for my c-max and other tall cars due to that reason.

PM'd...
About nothing to do with tyres :p |
Seem to have a choice between:
Goodyear NCT5's and Avon ZV3's Anyone had either? I've had NCT5's on the car in the past and they seemed ok, but the Avons are cheaper :lol: G |
I would of thought that goodyears would be the best choice.
|
Got those Avons on my Focus that is just about to go back (got a new one), they are OK but have worn fairly fast. If cheap enough then fair enoughski.
Used to have Goodyear Eagle F1's on the 306, they were dialled, simply unbelievable grip in the wet. |
ZV3's are pretty soft, had them on the bosses XK8 and they were slicks in 6,000 miles. Pretty decent grip though.
Not had NCT5's but been very impressed with other Goodyear tyres, Eagle F1's that I had on the van lasted a fair while |
G' had both and on the same car too so can make a comparison.
I like the feel of the Avon's and they make even a big old barge very chuckable but with enough grip to hang on when pushed really hard in a sensible sort of way. They did wear quite quickly though. I had NCT5's straight after and they didn't feel quite as sure footed when pushing on really hard but other than that were perfectly good enough and a very quiet tire too, gripped well in the wet. I towed with both tires (car trailer weighing something like 1500kg all up) and both felt fine to be fair. Car was a Passat TDi-S, played with engine .... now a blown turbo .. there is a moral there somewhere :( |
Mmmmmmm
Cheers guys, I don't really push on much in the Vectra!:lol: G |
Or with the cat......
anyway why do you want big ones, why not go for normal ones :woot: |
Kettle - Pot - Black there I think!
Cos they are just a big lump of rubber, and bloody expensive too  G |
I like to think i respect the drivetrain.
I do agree though, buying tyres is like buying tax. |

You know you will have to use flat out on the straight at Blyth..... G |
We at Xfactory don't "shit" belts. Yes i wore out loads of pulleys at the euros apart from that no, i don't remember replacing stuff because its worn out.
I used full throttle the other week at southport, only for a second though, i had to lift off for the corner. Oh and i didn't actually feed the power in until i was on the astro:thumbsup: I wonder if i would be quicker if i took a slice of the crisis management style from tomcock  |
Just had four new Bridgestones put on the Audi 235/40/18's
Looked them up on the net....... £270 per tyre!!!! Lucky I don't pay for them:thumbsup: |
