What do Top Rc Racers Earn

Hi all.

Just woundering. What do the top rc racers earn. If anything??

Not that i'll ever be that good. I'm just board in work hehe!!!

ben 16-04-2009 02:47 PM

Ive heard some drivers earn 10's of thousands of pounds. BUT they will race every week and will be expected to be right at the top of the game where ever they go!

jono83 16-04-2009 02:50 PM

I will ask vinny LOL !!!!

Lee 16-04-2009 02:51 PM

Ben is right, just ask Vinny he is about as good as it gets.

Personally i hate these threads, very few people really know and they are not going to come on here and say i earn £xxx. It's all speculation.

Fabs 16-04-2009 02:57 PM

Their weight in chocolate

Or in Creme Eggs

emtee 16-04-2009 02:59 PM

I can only quote from Andy Moore at the 2007 worlds... he said he had a full time job within HPI/HB and works, occasionally, from a desk... when pressed further he said it was less than 30k... so, it doesn't sound that much does it? Mind you, all his travel and accomodation will be paid for... it's a hard life innit... but someones gotta do it!!!!

I get more than that... but then again I do 12hr shifts inc weekends in the same place every time...

mikeyscott 16-04-2009 03:18 PM

Won't give up my 9-5 day job then - lol

Still can't afford a R32 MK5 at the mo (well I could, but I don't want finance!)

This is present though ryan, you and your shellsuit loving inbreds keep banging on about 2005 and before that it was the 80's

We admit we are shite, but we will still be there come august

R32 MkV? Get a MkIV! Much more hardcore and seems to be holding its value better too relatively speaking. Mind, they both sound sweet at full chat.

Lee 16-04-2009 04:52 PM

Not that quick though are they, give me a civic type r anyday, much more fun and 000's cheaper.

Oh and i dont mean the new shape they are a big disappointment.

It's Alan Sugar you need, Lee......not Alan Shearer

Lee 16-04-2009 05:23 PM

You just wait till we get out of this 40 year slump

daz 16-04-2009 05:53 PM

Well yeah but hell, these days who can afford to drive fast. Never mind the speed, listen to the noise :). What about an Integra, that is a proper Type-R. I love forum threads, see how quickly we've turned it almost instantly from one topic to another :p.

Lee 16-04-2009 06:17 PM

Yes the integra is the daddy type r and the dc02 is the bollocks.

You will find that when kecky and stegger contribute the threads usually turn to praising scousers and homosexuals. I have nothing against homosexuals i might add :woot:

Southwell 16-04-2009 06:21 PM

Dc02's are stupid prices, but they are worth every penny. I had a civic VTI for a few years, went to a mondeo and got a speeding ticket in the first week, go figure

Spoolio 16-04-2009 06:37 PM

There's an 11 year old DC2 Intergra on Pistonheads for £6000+, that IS crazy money but good luck to him if he gets it. The way my life works if I go out with that much cash to buy a DC02 I'd come back with a Dyson and 50p in change :(.

hopsing 16-04-2009 11:06 PM

Back on the original subject of this thread :p Last year Ryan Cavalieri bought a Lexus IS-F..........

Starting at $56,760 US dollars
5.0-Liter V8
416 hp and 371 lb-ft torque
8-Speed Sport Direct-Shift
0-60 mph in 4.6 sec

I know he gets a base salary per year, travel for the races paid for, and they get bonuses depending on where they finish at certain races.

Now you know why these guys can get soo upset when something happens to them during a main event. It could cost them a grip of cash....I've heard that from first to second position could be a difference of $500 to a $1000 dollars

vinny20 16-04-2009 11:12 PM

But it's old tech and I've got a Leon Cupra at the mo. Only reason I want to change my Cupra is I'm bored of it.

On the list
MKV R32
Audi S4 (04-06)
Audi S3 new shape
BMW M3 E46 - too common..

I hate Japanese cars

Reminds me I need to prod my boss to get me on callout to fund these things.. I would only consider pro RC Racing (not that I'm any good) if the earnings were into the 40% tax threshold. Also loose the chav tracksuit...
