New steering parts

Will they allow for more steering lock? I've been struggling with a larger turning circle than I'd like.

They certainly look the business though, are these available now?

They will help get the inside wheel in the car to lock more, chill the car out into a turn and give more through the turn.

There will also be a longer cross link available that will increase lock, however i always take a little material away from the chassis to allow the arms more travel.

I've been running the protos for a while and ran these new ones today! they are slighlty better than the prototypes as these ones are orange

Stu 29-03-2009 09:17 PM

The longer cross-link (2mm longer) was in use this weekend at The Players - thanks to Kev K.

ads0021 30-03-2009 12:47 PM

These new arms are also a slightly revised ackerman. They should help make the car less darty at speed and give more pivot through the corner.

Tom3012 30-03-2009 04:22 PM

do we know a price for these yet?

Panic 30-03-2009 09:06 PM

bling bling ....are they available???and also are they double faced? i mean no modification needed to convert the steering for stick pack. Want to squeeze them into my forthcoming order....

The ones availabe are for stick pack layout, but i think Lewis will be producing both types. I believe he has a fair few in the first batch, but get your order in quick to make sure you get some!

They are a definate improvement over the standard ones

Panic 30-03-2009 09:20 PM

i guess we dont have a part nr yet? need to call lewis and order over the phone right?

KevLee 30-03-2009 09:23 PM

Not sure about part number... best bet is as you say, give Lewis a call and he'll sort you out

Mrs.TeamXtreme 30-03-2009 09:32 PM

Or if its easier and saves you time email us and we'll sort it out for you. They will be available on the web tomorrow - hopefully

My dad spoke to Lewis yesterday, the parts will be around £20-£30 for the set.

Im not sure whats included but im guessing the two orange arms, and a new link?

I may be wrong but im sure someone will clear this up

Excellent. my guess was based upon the x11 steering upgrade which retails at about £60.

I wonder what the next parts to go orange will be?

Panic 15-04-2009 05:02 PM

Well mine came on thursday as mentioned ,and it had the new orange steering parts, a new steering link , and 2 ball bearings. So i guess its going to be a complete set.

SO you bought an X11 with the stickpack-mod allready made?
Is there any news about the new stickpack-body (without battery-slots)?

I ordered one, if available but haven't heared nothing yet.

Tom3012 17-04-2009 05:40 PM

£40 get yous the two orange steering arms, a link and the two bearings which sit in the link.

Got mine today, all fitted and ready to role!

Lowie 17-04-2009 07:04 PM

are these special bearings?
I should think the old ones would do, no?

KevLee 17-04-2009 07:35 PM

Yep, they use the same bearings

Tom3012 17-04-2009 11:02 PM

Quick question Kev, what size turnbuckle do you use with the pushrod moved inwards?

KevLee 17-04-2009 11:26 PM

I took it off the rear of a losi xxx 2wd, not sure of the size. I also dremelled off a couple off mm from each end to give enough adjustment.

One thing i think is important on the front with the new position is to cut the balljoint down in length as it allows more uptravel. I run a 3mm limiter in the front shocks aswell.

Tom3012 18-04-2009 06:17 PM

Cool, try it how it is at the moment with the standard position and move it tomorrow if i feel i needs to.

Tah, Tom

restimax 21-05-2009 03:43 PM

with this steering parts, change the ackermann angle?
because use a link and nothing a long turnbuckles for change the ackermann?
