:woot::woot::woot: you'll need some extra spares.

I went for the 8.5 for the b4 which should be nice and sensible with lipo;)

Matt_N 24-03-2009 09:30 PM

Will do :p expecting it to be rather rapid, may test it in the TC5 aswell if I find an open space large enough. Now I just need a suitable speedo for it.

can the 8.5 sintr go straight into the 6.5

jim76 24-03-2009 10:04 PM

Nova - is that an off road 4wd? surely not with a 3.5?!!!!

Martin-Barbour 24-03-2009 10:05 PM

I took the sintered rotor out of my 8.5 today and put it in to my 6.5, worked without issue... But, as someone said to me after I had tried it, make sure that you're careful when removing the rotor as the magnets are very strong and it's easy to scratch the surface on the casing as you pull it out... :wtf:

err, yes, 5.5 or 6.5 depending on track. 3.5 in off road is insane! sell it to a touring car racer and get a 6.5!

nova 24-03-2009 10:49 PM

8.5

Hi Jim,i.ve emailed modelsport to change my order hopefully in time, they did'nt have a 6.5 so 8.5 it is,thanks for the advice.

Garry Driffill 24-03-2009 10:51 PM

no worries. most reasonable level racers run a 5.5 or 6.5. If you are more of a beginner level then the 8.5 is a really good choice.

no mate,i've changed the order at modelsport from a 3.5 to 8.5,it's probably going in a x10 or 501,as you've probably guessed brushless and lipos are a bit new to me, i just seen the 3.5 and got a bit carried away.

Jamie.T 24-03-2009 11:08 PM

Ive just ordered my 8.5t. Cant believe how cheap these are. Bargain

Cheers Richie Long.

Jamie.......

:o He'd hit the power and they'd be plastic flying everywhere

Garry Driffill 25-03-2009 12:02 AM

LOL i know! :)

Still, very wise moove going to an 8.5, You wont regret that at all mate :)

3.5 in an X10 would be out of this world fast haha

Darren Derby 25-03-2009 12:24 PM

Couple of quick questions: Will I notice a big difference in performance with the 8.5t brushless compared with the 14x2t brushed that's currently in my Durga? Also, if I went mad and got the 4.5t would I need to spend a lot more on the esc compared to the 8.5t?
Cheers, Darren.

Medders 25-03-2009 12:38 PM

Good question. An 8.5T is probably roughly equivalent to a 14T brushed (I think). You should certainly get much more run time and reliability.

Depends on the speedo you are looking at. Most decent ones will run the 8.5, but not all the 4.5. Mine older nosram for instance has a 5.5t (but in practice a 6.5t) limit.

RichieLong 25-03-2009 12:58 PM

I hope to run my Nosram 4.5t with my Novak GTB. I am hoping all will be sweet as i have never run a different motor with it. It has only run the Novak Velociti 7.5R, hope it will be compatible and maybe a bit more smoother power delivery. Dont think Modelsport will have many motors left now. I told them i had advertised the discounted motors on a forum and asked if they would supply me with a 16T pinion free of charge for the extra work i had drummed up for them and guess what they obliged, so thanks very much Modelsport!:)

I doubt moving from a 7.5 to a 4.5 will give quite that effect

chb 25-03-2009 01:57 PM

What is the UK mainland shipping cost for these motors (web site doesn't say other than free over99£) ?

Medders 25-03-2009 02:02 PM

When you put it in the basket it does. Mine was £2 postage, i.e. a total price of £38. It arrived the day after I ordered it.
