Bury Metro End of Season Indoor Meeting 18th March
 

Booking in for our extra End of Season meeting at Chadderton on 18th March 2018 is now open until Saturday 17th March 17:00pm

If we already have your details, we just need to know what class you are racing, we will be limiting booking in to 120 drivers. If you have not raced with us before we will need :- Name, Class, PT Number, BRCA Number and ability from 1 to 10.

• Booking in via replying to the oOple thread, email to [email protected] or via Facebook

• Shock Tower protectors will be required. • Tyres - For this meeting we will leave it as open tyre, but we would suggest that Schumacher yellow Cactus on the rears of both 2wd & 4wd and 2wd LP Cut Staggers on the front of 2wd and 4wd cut staggers on the front of 4wds and you will be very happy with grip level and tyre wear, next winter season towards the back end of this year will be controlled tyre.

• Setting up – We will be setting up on the Saturday before the Sunday meeting between 12pm to 3pm, many hands make light work and maybe a little practise for those who help set up.

• Packing away – Usual story, we always struggle with the same old few that help pack away, and last meeting was shameful with only a couple of members staying behind to help!! This Extra March meeting nearly didn’t happen due to the lack of help from our members, we will do a small raffle for this that stay and help pack away.:thumbsup:

• Track side shop - For this meeting Mad Models will be in attendance with a supply of Tyres, foams and Glue, give them a shout if you need anything in particular https://www.mad-models.co.uk/

• Address - The Radclyffe Athletics Centre, Hunt Ln, Chadderton, Oldham OL9 0LS – Please park in the main car park!!

• Start time will be doors open at 7:30am, please do not enter the building before this time otherwise we will be charged. Practice will be from 8:00am 4 mins practice each. Drivers briefing will be 9:15am, first heat starting at 9:30am sharp and looking to complete and packed away before 17:30pm

• Race Fees
➢ Adult members fee will be £8 per class.
➢ Junior members Under 16 will be £5 per class
➢ Non-members Adult fee will be £12 per class.
➢ Non-members under 16 will be £10 per class.
➢ No Discount for two classes.

• If you know you’re not attending please let us know so others can book in. Those that reserve and no show will be automatically on black list for future meetings. Also makes our lives easier on the busy Sunday morning not having to shout for no shows and re-hashing the heats.

• Butty van will be at the meeting all day, hot food ranging from Bacon butties, full breakfast to hot roast beef buttys.

Ok guys this last event of our winter series has been given to me , so I’ve designed the track which is gonna be a bit of a tester for all drivers as it’s an fast flowing but technical which is how I like them, so if you haven’t booked in yet get yourselves on the list as this will be one not to be missed.👊

Apologies but I can no longer make it down for tomorrow's meeting. Can you please remove me.

Tomorrows meeting is going ahead as planned, track is set up so we have to go!!

Only a light dusting of snow at present and all main roads are fine.

That said please ensure you take into account the conditions local to you before travelling and most importantly make sure you stay safe.

Sorry all, we have had to make a call that we didn’t want too, the motorways are OK, main road to Chadderton is not the best, the biggest issue is the slope down to the car park which is not passable.

Again sorry it’s a hard call to make but better for everyone’s safety.

If you do make it we will need help putting the track away.

What has happened to Britain and our sense of determination?. Surely with half a dozen lads with shovels the carpark would have been fine. I just don't get this 'can't do' attitude of today's society, everything seems to easy to say 'it's closed due to -' or 'it's cancelled due to -'. Nothing stopped us from doing things like going to school in two or three feet of snow and having no heating on, it just didn't matter. Or digging my van of of a snow drift and setting off to work in Glasgow or Edinburgh or wherever. we just got on with it back in the day. Maybe I'm just old fashioned but all this nonsense gets on my tits. Bring back true British grit and determination and let this soft arse approach subside.
