£50 B4 clone?

Lee Martin 08-02-2009 10:47 AM

losi front - B4 rear....

bmx833 08-02-2009 12:38 PM

b4 shock towers, basically a stealth b4 with a losi front

mark christopher 08-02-2009 01:42 PM

im sure my b4 has shocks behind the tower!!!!!

guess the green ansman will be its downfall

Welshy40 08-02-2009 06:09 PM

Resemblence of the B4 is there, however the shocks are in a different place on the front and of course the motor, where is it hiding, as its not on the back, so possibly in board. We want more pictures, if there are any out there.

BugFreak 17-02-2009 05:15 AM

Some nice touches in there, especially like the 3 cable clips for the motor wires on the rear tower .... why don't they all do that? As it's 3 wires it means they must be thinking brushless = planning on selling it to racers.

Nothing in those pics that makes me think it won't be a capable club car if nothing else ...... even the front shocks are on the correct side of the tower :)

jimmy 17-02-2009 09:51 AM

Looks rather good - shame about the name tho, eh!

DCM 17-02-2009 10:49 AM

that does look like a good effort, I just hope that all those nice bits aren't upgrades, but come on the car as standard.

ashleyb4 17-02-2009 12:34 PM

looks cool losi front end b4 rear end.

A

Gayo 17-02-2009 12:39 PM

At least! The Losi XXXX :p

GRIFF55 17-02-2009 12:41 PM

£50, where is that price from??? looks quite good if thats right:thumbsup:

jim76 17-02-2009 12:57 PM

pic in original post looks like an RB5 front end? Roger?

Scouser 17-02-2009 01:27 PM

I think they both look fantastic and I hope they do well. It would be nice to see the odd Ansmann/Traxxas/Duratrax/whatever instead of the usual stuff. The fact that some of the biggest stores are carrying these cars means there will be good backup so no worries about parts availability.

Fabs 17-02-2009 01:31 PM

the whole car looks like an RB5.

jimmy 17-02-2009 01:40 PM

Who imports these ansmann badboys? Might be a review worthy dancer:thumbsup:

Sent 'em an email - will see what they say (no, not the digital camera company haha)

Scouser 17-02-2009 02:02 PM

I reckon you should contact them Jimmy, tell them you intend to do a review and see what they can do to help. For a new brand to break into the 2wd market, a little oOple review could help them no end (as long as the car is good obviously!!).

DCM 17-02-2009 02:59 PM

I know there is a UK section, one of the sales reps is Jamie Thomas and is down Swansea way, can't remember his email though.

DCM 17-02-2009 03:11 PM

60 euros for a basic kit, 130euros for the 'pro' kit.

jimmy 17-02-2009 03:21 PM

Where did you find that?

DCM 17-02-2009 03:26 PM

German model shoop (Modelbau) but not sure if they are in stock, as no image, just a price listing, but even at $130euro, if it is half decent, should be good!!!

"1:10 2WD EP Buggy Mad Council R"

:) I had forgotten that Rathaus was the town hall in German

I really hope this is a good alternative 2wd buggy for beginners, wonder if they will do a RTR with the ansmann brushless system.

Scouser 17-02-2009 07:04 PM

If they come in at a decent price I might just pick one up to have a little bash with them. They look well thought out and those cvds look super beefy!

brian s 18-02-2009 07:54 PM

From the pictures it looks like this will be a budget racer that will come with a ball differential. There's a few AE/Losi clones out there in the budget bracket and most of them are let down with the only differential option of a geared fixed ratio item.

The MadRat looks quite good.

jim76 18-02-2009 10:40 PM

now i've been able to see all the pics posted (they don't show on my work PC for some reason), it is just a half price RB5!! It is practically identical. As long and the plastic isn't made out of chocolate and the alloy isn't made out of cheese it should be a seriously capable regional level car, and in the right hands could make a decent stab at nationals.

DaveG28 19-02-2009 12:42 AM

Hmm, on Ansmann's website, there are 3, and the pro version (the others being basic and rtr) is €150. By the time someone imports it and does the usual UK pricing, this is gonna be pretty expensive isn't it at todays exchange rates?

How much do B4FT's go for in the shops?

N7ELA 19-02-2009 02:12 AM

Its a beefed up B4. With a couple of minor mods... Looks good though....

Chris Ward 19-02-2009 11:03 AM

Well the buggy and the truck are both listed on Fusion Hobbies as coming soon and priced at £139.99...

TBH I would rather have a Team B4 at that money......its is proven and not a lot more in cost.

Your right, but something different is always tempting!! This looks ok enough for me to be interested!

sosidge 19-02-2009 12:04 PM

If the pound hadn't fallen so hard against the Euro this would have been a £99 kit...

RogerM 19-02-2009 12:13 PM

Comparing it to the B4 is all well and good but not everybody likes the B4 ....
