dave g 06-02-2009 11:44 PM

i picked up a nice 17" lappy off ebay for under £200 and its been spot on,good cpu and gaming card too.

Rich D 06-02-2009 11:44 PM

I get my stuff from a guy called Martin at EasyPC. Hes on Ebay under that name. Cheaper than building your own. Im sure Mr Southwell will look after you though - seems to know his stuff :)

Richard Lowe 06-02-2009 11:46 PM

£300 Inc monitor for a new machine will get you a right sack of spanners

Add another £150 to get a slightly reasonable spec!

DCM 06-02-2009 11:54 PM

Vista will set you pack £60, a 21" TFT will be about £120, I guess you could build a bare bones machine with the rest, 1GB mem, onboard graphics, sound, LAN etc.... cheap case, 500WPSU, it is do-able, just, if you can get your neanderthal fingers to work right.

ashleyb4 06-02-2009 11:59 PM

It would be possible but if your budget can go higgher you can build one. I built mine.

The second one in will be ok for you.

I would personally build my own but ive had no problems will Dells. We have bought over 600 with only 2 problems. ;) ne being a dented fan surround at manufacture.

ashleyb4 07-02-2009 12:07 AM

Yea that looks pretty tidy for what you need ben remember keeping it running well is running regular virus scans etc dont fill the hard drives with crap and clean the inside of the regular basis with a can of air.

Southwell 07-02-2009 12:12 AM

Gotta be careful with the air or ull force dust into parts you don't want it ;)
