HPi win at EBOR 24 hour race - oOple

Team Mirage / HPi won at the 2009 EBOR 24 hour race held at the York Off Road Car Club over the weekend of 31st Jan - 1st Feb 2009. The grueling 24 hours of solid racing took their toll on the competitors but all teams finished with HPi out front after a bad start. The A-Team (read - Associated) snatched second by just 3 laps after a battle with the unlucky Nor-Trak-Macher-Tech team who themselves had lead the race for a long time.

bigred5765 01-02-2009 10:13 PM

x factory did a average of 441 laps per driver, thats over a 40 meetings worth of driving, all in one day and all on Matty transmitter,
anyone one to buy a little used KO 3 tranny lmao,

Richard Lowe 01-02-2009 11:04 PM

A big well done to York for running the event and building a really nice track to drive. It was easy to bod round but there was loads of time to be gained in the last few corners/jumps before the straight

Thanks and well done to the Mirage team, we had some bod radio problems at the start but once that was sorted the Cyber was flying round. It survived us thrashing it for the whole race pretty much box-stock, no doubled up shock towers or fancy ballcups needed :p

I'm off to bed!

Ace report Jimmy as per usual ;)

jimmy 01-02-2009 11:32 PM

have to say, it would be nothing without the help of Stu Evans - he's a legend.

telboy 02-02-2009 10:14 AM

Top report as always.

The marshalling looked hillarious!

Well done to the Mirage team.

bigred5765 02-02-2009 10:26 AM

Tom Cockerill's "tickle the cats tummy" was the best of the lot, he pulled that out the bag after 23hrs.

bigred5765 02-02-2009 10:42 AM

never seen a cat roll over for its tummy tickled, lol :)

MHeadling 02-02-2009 10:46 AM

Chris Doughty 02-02-2009 11:28 AM

I still can't believe you sent me out with your yellow wheels on the front and the white wheels on the back.

I mean, I would have happily waited another 30 seconds for it not to look bod :p

bigred5765 02-02-2009 11:31 AM

buy the way, after the stick we got at the weekend for trying to use yellow rims, i now have 20-30 sets of b4 and losi 4wd rims for sale,

blitzboy 02-02-2009 12:04 PM

top report jimmy , pleased to see not all the piccies got used ,

jimmy 02-02-2009 12:10 PM

Thanks mate, I think it's possibly a little 'risque' in places, but it was never designed to be a serious straight-up race report.

Big thanks to everyone who sorted out the event from conception to actually running the damn thing. Mike and Derek did an amazing job on Race Control, counting up those lost laps.

Also, big thanks to the AE team for some 'Good Karma Marshalling' started off by Mr Yard-Stick.
Tom's 'Cat-Tickle' will live long in my memory, Ben's face was a picture!!

Well done to everyone who competed, it was awesome to see how many cars finished. It was a shame to see the Morley car not finish as those guys were on the same lap as York when it went all went wrong.

See you all next year! I think we'll just dust our car down and put it straight back out! ;)

blitzboy 02-02-2009 01:11 PM

well done hot bodies , top driving from all of you ,even sloppy with his arm excerzing on the main straight , i think we should give tom a new nick name after the cat tickle incident it left ben gob smacked what a piccy ,
well done tom tickle cockerill you are the tickle master
