I like this better

http://www.racing-cars.com/pp/New_Ca...sami/K172.html

No modern running gear at all so plenty of spare parts for xls owners to come as well I'd say, but modern transmission upgrade will be available seperately which is even better news

Retro RC 01-02-2017 10:09 AM

Just preordered mine:thumbsup:

I'll be getting a pre-order on the go soon I think.

Also might mean that I can get my original XLS/Procat hybrid back into shape at a reasonable cost too!

daz75 01-02-2017 01:41 PM

Prices of the originals to tumble then :D

Nice one Andrew , I was the same too , couldn't afford one back then and strangely enough I can't afford one now

Peakey 01-02-2017 03:35 PM

So far it's £259.99 RRP for the kit and £99 RRP for the transmission upgrade

Cliveyp 01-02-2017 04:03 PM

Anyone know what the transmission upgrade consists of? I was thinking of one, but surely the original 'box could cope with a steady 10.5?

Stu Dixon 01-02-2017 04:39 PM

Ohhhhhhhhh go on then if I must

March is a way off for my proposed delivery date :o

I want one now :wub

daz75 01-02-2017 05:19 PM

Sounds expensive

Peakey 01-02-2017 05:30 PM

There all discounting the price for pre orders anyway but I've got mine ordered with transmission upgrade and 2 sets of chrome wheels

Welshy40 01-02-2017 05:55 PM

Im tempted, but if Schumie are doing then maybe Yokomo might and that is what I would be after.

Adam F 01-02-2017 07:09 PM

Cool that they have done it, but so glad I sold most of my original ones whilst they fetched a good price!

xfactor 01-02-2017 07:53 PM

I Must email RPM not to RE-RE the RPM ULTRA MOLD.......:woot::woot::lol::lol:

ralphee 01-02-2017 08:22 PM

Tempting but not a huge fan, please see this as a GO, Yokomo!

I wonder,

Will Schumacher release spares for it. Or will people buy kits and split them on Ebay like the norm......

Just a thought, if Schumacher are releasing new diffs and slipper, will parts be available ?

CVRrc 01-02-2017 08:35 PM

Very exciting, Am I right in thinking the XLS sliper clutch will be compatible with original cougar and Procat and the new front and rear diff wil pl also fit my Procat?

Adam F 01-02-2017 09:39 PM

I'm sure they will release spares, why wouldn't they?

xfactor 01-02-2017 09:42 PM

It was just a thought, I'm not sure if it would be a limited run for the buggy only.

Novice 01-02-2017 10:28 PM

So does it come with the upgraded transmission? or do you need to buy that to run brushless reliably , OR is the upgraded transmission available to convert original cars to use brushless ?

Rs fruitbat 01-02-2017 10:49 PM

From what I've read it doesn't come with the upgraded transmission ,that's an extra £100 on top of the kit price .

I'm guessing they're supplying the kit in that way to keep the purists / shelf queen people happy ,whilst giving the racers the option of the upgrade .

For sure, to run it you will need the upgraded tranny. Otherwise original MMS diffs and layshaft.
The original will be for shelf queens.

fidspeed 02-02-2017 06:50 AM

different view

of course you can run it as standard you will just need to be careful on motor choice and not go silly

agreed with neil, if you want to run modern low wind brushless motors the upgraded tranny will be required
dave

Peakey 02-02-2017 08:01 AM

You will be able to run it out the box with whatever motor you want because now you can get spares :thumbsup:

No pics or details as of yet but MB are stating front and rear diff upgrade, slipper and belts. So I take from that it'll be a full 3M belts and full fat KF type slipper, mines ordered and I'm like a kid waiting for Christmas

Cliveyp 02-02-2017 04:15 PM

I've not ordered the tranny as yet as i'm still undecided exactly which way the car will go. That said, i've still got an MMS diff and layshaft in the scabby original car here so I might rob those temporarily if I find the standard tranny struggling. Would be interesting to see what they've done to upgrade it...
