New paint for 2007 anyone ?

1 Attachment(s)
I'm sure there will be plenty of new cars / shells around in 2007, here's my new paint, hopefully I will still be able to see them in the grass (tourer excluded !).

Come on Jimmy, if i've had chance to paint something over Xmas, than i'm sure you have too !

Andy.

Nice andy looking very smart:)

I hope to get a new b4 shell and get it sprayed to match my tc then when i get my x5 ill get that painted the same but i like to leave new shells just before nationals start so they arent knackered before the season begins.

DCM 02-01-2007 07:32 PM

Nice job Andy, and for one tiny moment, I thought the X-6 was an old ProCat

tc2k 02-01-2007 07:40 PM

Nice shells mate. Only had my current shell for 6 months but I think I may get a new one as for some reason, the paint on mine is coming up and leaving air bubbles underneath the paint!

bigred5765 02-01-2007 10:07 PM

One of my tourer shells for 2007, slightly different to last years

DCM 03-01-2007 03:56 PM

sweet...

Cockerill 03-01-2007 04:09 PM

I think I'm gonna go for something totally different to last year, a nice shade of white ;)

paulc 03-01-2007 04:10 PM

that's well smart how long did it take to do that

I got plenty of shades of white, I can even do you white carbon fibre, roflol

Lee 03-01-2007 04:49 PM

I really wish i had the time and patients to do that, let alone the talent, i have them done by a guy in thailand called Luck, he is a star and its all air brush no stickers anywhere, you dont want to cover up any of the work with sponsors stickers :D

Well done anyway, loving your work (if you did it of course) :)

This is a pic of last seasons bodies they are very similar in design, the grill is all brush work also, sadly its not my work, i can only dream of such talents

telboy 04-01-2007 11:00 PM

ooh, someones been to shopufo.
awesome work, I only wish I could get faskolor paint to go on shells as good as he does.:(

DCM 04-01-2007 11:33 PM

I thought the front looked familiar, must have money to waste, getting shells sprayed in Asia, lol, the guy must spray all day, every day, he must be using some of the Createx extenders and stuff.

Lee 05-01-2007 06:59 AM

TBH its cheaper to get 3 shells done by Luck than it is by any of the UK pro`s this includes shipping, and its something different. ;)

DCM 05-01-2007 10:04 AM

Crikey, is he doing them for free then?

Lee 05-01-2007 10:15 AM

i wish, he also has a 4 month waiting list :o

Nick Goodall 05-01-2007 10:52 AM

Love the intercooler he's painted lol - looks really good!

??? :eh?:

eh? How much did it cost you in total for 3 shells plus shipping then?
I need to know, 'cos I'm obviously not charging enough! PM me if you don't want people to know.

everyone I know thats had shells off him have payed about £50 a shell?

Plus I've not got a 4 month waiting list.;)

Lee 05-01-2007 11:12 AM

the photos just dont seem to do the bodies justice, when i first got them i just admired them:D

Im still very proud of them and know each one is a work of art that only a very small group of people can do

jimmy 05-01-2007 11:13 AM

nice lines, is he cutting those pin stripes on the flames on the shell ?

telboy 05-01-2007 11:26 AM

Apparently he does yes, not that saying he's not any good because he is, he's incredibly accurate and I'm working on getting up to his standards (not far off now!) ;) but surely its no more expensive to get them over here. I don't charge a great deal for the shells I do so i wouldn't think theres much in it.

Lee 05-01-2007 11:34 AM

Yeah i heard you were back on the solvents Tel:D

I got 3 shells done and shipping included its about £150, the exchange rate is good right now:)

Plus it is something very different and yes the pinstripes are all hand cut you can see on one or two of the lines where the knife has stopped.

daz_75 05-01-2007 11:40 AM

£150 :-O

DCM 05-01-2007 12:23 PM

£150, I would happily do five shells for that!!!!

Body Paint 05-01-2007 12:50 PM

£50 a shell.... I think I might turn Pro for that:D

jimmy 05-01-2007 01:04 PM

looking at the RRCI magazine this lunchtime in the local newsys and looks like Tel is already gone pro ?

tc2k 05-01-2007 04:41 PM

I thought you'd quit spraying tel?

How much do you charge a shell like?

I always find a couple of AA batteries give a good enough charge :D:D

I could do three shells with that design for less than that, put it that way.:)

Yes Jimmy I've had to, due to losing my job I need to make some money now and this is the only other thing that i do other than the design work.

I did put the airbrush away for a few months whilst i was working because painting shells and working didn't leave me much time for family etc. but now i can do the shells in the day time.:p

jimmy 05-01-2007 07:52 PM

agh, sorry to hear that mate, I have been made redundant three times over the last few years - games industry isn't the most stable thing ever! But to be honest, if it happened again then I'd do what you're doing and see what happened. Not painting shells, but doing my own thing I mean.

I hope you dont crash very often!! LMAO

telboy 05-01-2007 11:24 PM

Hey jimmy you should just go into photography matey, why don't you set up a little shop on here selling your photo's?

Its the first time I've lost a job in 16yrs! so I'm not used to it. lol
it does feel good not to have to get up early for work though, and just work from home.:p

PaulRotheram 05-01-2007 11:32 PM

Always told him to set sumat up, and i'd be more than willing to help as always.

ashleyb4 05-01-2007 11:55 PM

150:o :o

i could get 5 shells sprayed to a high standard for that.

Scouser 06-01-2007 01:17 AM

Good luck with the shells mate. I may well be contacting you soon about getting one for my car.
Jimmy, have you thought about selling some of your pictures through the site? If I saw my RC10 looking as good as most of them do in your shots, i would pay to get a print of it. You could do 8x10s right up to poster prints! Maybe do a bit of freelance stuff for RRCI or Racer or even do your own Bi-monthly review mag. Just a few ideas.;)
