Sprktrum Problem
hi,
for x-mas i got the DX3 Sprktrum. I run it outside for a few laps and had no problems with it. Now i (tried) to run a few laps. After one lap it stoped and nothing worked anymore. And the fail save doesenīt work either. After a straight it run into some chair with full speed. If anyone could help me or has an idea please post as soon as posible! Thanks Till |
has the aerial been damaged at all?
|
No, there`s no problem with it.
|
Could just be interference indoors, broadband, something electrical, try it again outside and bond the reciever again.

Thanks!
I rebond it and after that the car stil had this problem. today I tried it with my other reciver and it worked, but at the end of my last run i had the problem again with the new reciver. Thanks Till |
If its at the end of the run are your batteries in good condition.
|
No itīs always after one or max. two laps then the car suddenly stops and you can do nothing against it.
But now i tried it again at home and i hit my kitchentable and after that it didnīt works again so i think itīs sensetiv for hits. Iīll send it to spektrum and weīll se what they do or say. But thanks to all of you Till |

On the track I always notice it after landing jumps, the car loses power for a sec but then when it comes back on it has a life of it's own for the next sec... usually going to full throttle with no steering! |

we have had the same type of problems with two cars running dx3r, suddenly going into whatever failsafe mode. they tried changing receivers, rebonding, everything.
the results were not what we thought, on both cars it came down to poor soldering on battery tabs and/or a small cable breakage. so my tips for you is to check and recheck all your soldering and all cables for faults. and try some electric spray for your connectors on battery and receiver. |
you say 2 recievers do it?
i have a similar problem and it was dirty contacts on my transmitter pins that go into the module |

The clue here for me was the problem occurs after "jumps". Can you imagine the electrical confusion going on in the receiver after a jump if it is full of grit/sand etc arcing across the electrical internals? The interuption of signal would probably trigger the failsafe? |

It was one Reciver at a hole day and the second one had it too but after turning off/on again it worked not like with the other you couldnīt get it back to work again.

I'm running a Spektrum Pro SR3001 receiver hooked up to an original Novak GTB (the old one that came with the smooth motor cans). One thing that popped into my head is that Novak had replaced their original GTB with a newer Spektrum Spread version. Now surely they would have only done this if there had been issues with the older one? Maybe my older GTB system doesn't like to be plugged into a new Spektrum Pro receiver? To test my theory, I plugged the receiver into my new Losi Xcelorin system (with the latest firmware installed) and hey presto, no problems. I tapped away at the top of the receiver, but could not get it to replicate the problem it had when plugged up to my older Novak GTB ESC. So, to me it looks like a compatibility issue, rather than a problem with my receiver? Does this sound feasible? |
are you running a spektrum capaciter in your reciever? if not may be worth a try!

yes it can
|
Novak said that the spread spectrum version of the GTB was to take advantage of higher frequency switching which couldn't be used with AM/FM systems. So AM/FM/2.4GHz can all be used with the standard GTB, but only 2.4GHz with the spread spectrum version.
Yours may have a fault but we've got several people at our club using 2.4GHz with non-spread spektrum versions so I don't think it's a compatibility thing. |
We run 2 cars with early Spektum via 3000 recievers (sanwa super exzes module), Novak GTB's non spread, one has a power cap, other not, but no problems last 18 months. I know this is no help, but your stuff should work.
Just thinking with 27/40mhz tackle we would be moving it around in the car, away from battery cables......somehow I just expect specky to work. |
