Numbing steering XX4
 

Hey all,

Silly question but is there any other way of numbing down the steering on a Losi xx4 other than changing the front springs or cutting the top of the caster block flush?

Ive had a pop with cutting tyres, Is there anything else that i could try other than that you recon?

On the front castor blocks cut the little stubby bit the ballstud sits on so its flat with the rest of it if that makes sence.

Garry, you could try going up 5 wt oil in the front, or raise the ride height a mm or 2.

Do you have to much front end in general? or is it to much steering into or out of the corner?

Try leaning the top of the shocks in, or adjust the toe in/out.

If you are on the inside hole on the front wishbone you could try the middle hole.... this is how I have always run my X-5 / XX4's on high grip carpet tracks

If what I have suggested doesn't help enough then maybe you could post your setup and we'll begin some analasis

What setup are you running garry? And why is this in the x factory section?

Ashley, you are quite right, the XX4 was one of the best cars ever made, thats why we recognized this at X-Factory and chose this as our platform for our own 4wd - the X5 which went one step further.

The Squared now just makes it even better still :woot:

You only need to put it in there once mate, then hit the pay button and you would become the proud owner of one of the best 2wd's on the market (B4) and the X6 conversion that makes it even better!!! :p

Put your XXX on a shelf so you can drool over it and keep it "shelf queen clean" and then you can race an X6 and go even faster round the track :woot:

Your Losi love affair will end one you try the X6 Ash, and you can turn that vintage 4wd into a modern day racer :D

Ive tried a few x6's where nice cars wouldnt mind running one for a meeting though.

I want to reply to the post above about our Team drivers. We are so proud of every X-Teamer. They are all tops on R/C knowledge, and willingness to help is awesome. Sometimes I think they like to work on their cars and talk R/C more than drive.

And that's why we have them. As we all work together in various Team meetings, we stress that winning is secondary to our primary mission: meeting and working with The Family. It's a great bonus that they are all so fast.

I'm happy to learn again that the Team are doing their job. Thanks for your confirmation.

When i get my squared you can borrow my X6 for a meeting, im sure you will be on the phone to Darren on the monday morning to have yours sent up.

Also now is a great time to buy an X6, like Chazz said there are some fantastic deals on the kit that is the current national champion. I would also like to bet that Ellis would win the 2wd nats next year with the current X6. But seeing as he will be running the squared, its just going to be unfair on the competition :D

I have to agree ive met all the uk team and spoken to them (except ellis) all great people all freindly know some of them better than others. Wheni saw the 2009 team it was like ledgends!!!
