My YZ-10(T) '94!
1 Attachment(s)
Hy vintage Yokomo yz-10 fans,
I want to show you, what more likely found the way to me, than i was looking after, and hope to find some help, when i do have some questions. Here is the first pic...:o The previus owner was using it for bashing, and i could'nt see that anymore, so i released it from it's pain!:woot: |

Car looks in very good shap, exapt, most of the screws are worn, so i have to be carefull, to destroy nothing else, when start to disasamble it.
Car comes loaded with full vintage electrics, the original manual and an original tuning and sparparts catalog, with all the spare parts numbers in it, but no extra parts at all! It is missing the body and undertray, so here is my first question, where is a good place to find parts for the yz-10? Sorry for some bad english and sorry too, for many posts, as i allways can upload one pic per post, with my ipad! |

...here is the front of the parts cataloge, i did scan all pages, so if someone is interrested in, i can e-mail it, but it is quit a big file, so may i have to down size it a little!?
|
I'm sure the yz10 experts will be along shortly to give you some help
|
Looks like you've got a nice condition 94 there buddy great find. We use to run large scale car body's BITD here I ran my 870C with a wide arched MK4 escort body, it was the first incarnation of the TC lol.
Screws can be other orded in the size and quantity needed or if you search YZ10 on eBay you'll see a place in Germany I think it is offering complete screw kits for them. Body and under tray can also be found on eBay from either Penguin or TBG and you'll be wanting the one with the small scoop on the left hand side of the car  |
Peakey, thanks for the infos for the body and undertray and for the screws!
I took apart the hole car yesterday and had quit some trubles to get those worn phillips screws out, especially those, witch was running into the metal and magnesium parts, but luckily, got them all out!:woot: I will go a bit off of originality, as i will use mostly hex screws on it(i do have them here). The hole car looks like, it was not driven very much, drivetrain and diffs looks like new, exapt the pully for the front belt cached a stone and so one tooth is broken, the front inner hinge pins are bent, and those little ball ends are hard and look like they brake every second, everything els is in realy good shape... So what i have to look after is, -Body and undertray -some decals -weels and tires -front inner hinge pins -spur/main gear set -those little ball ends ... Than it should be finished!:wub |
Hi Mate,
When I posted my YZ10 this guy Stuntmonk1 contacted me and said he had some hing pins. I got a couple off him, he may have some more. Maybe worth a try. Jamie |

I' try to get in contact with him. Oh, i do need the front bumper too, it was missing, may the previus owner was removin it, when he removed the undertray, as he forgot to put those golden aloy screws in, too.... |
Quote:
There's a guy in Australia that sells repo bumpers looks good on mine |
Thanks daz75, for that info too, i'll have a look for that.
|
Nice, not much to do at all.shocks could do with a rebuild but would advise changing the seals. They are good shocks plus those springs work well on most surfaces.
|
Thanks Walshy40,
Yes, did rebuilt allready the front shocks and put some nice white rdrp o-rings in it and they run buttery smoth again, like those teflon pistons too!:) May have to go lower on shock oil, as i put some 30wt in it, these was the lowest i had, but ordered a set of losi shock oils, from 20-45 wt, what is a good starting point oil wise? Cleaned up most of the parts and start to rebuilt the car allready, and, i found a shop in germany, which still stocks some parts for the yz-10, but no body shell and plastic parts, mostly parts for the drive train, and shock rebuilt sets!:woot: What i'm also looking for too, are some of those golden aloy screws, my lhs does have a screw set for the ae b4/sc10, which include four of these screws, but i have to see, how many i do need!? I'm realy loving this car already, i do like the simplyness of those older cars compared to all of the modern cars!:wub |

Body is available on ebay and undertray as a repro but really good. Also someone on oople now makes those wings in any colour for a good price. |
rebuilding process!

Hi guys,
Started the rebuilt yesterday! I do have good connections to a local hardware store and he collected me two sets of phillips scews and it did cost me only € 4 and 43 Cents for both sets! I'm wayting for some spares for the drivetrain to arrive and my lhs ordered me a set of those golden ae 8-32 screws, so they should arrive next week? I'm still looking for a body and under tray, a decal sheet and a front bumper, but that's it... here are a couple of pics, of the building process so far: |

Thanks for these pics, this is allready a good start!
Is this one of your cars?:o It looks amazing! Quote:
|
Could someone please explane me, why they had a team associated stickes on the yokomo?
Was that, because they used some ae parts, or did they have a kind of cooperation with ae? |

Car is in realy good condition and was not driven very often, just a fiew scratches on the front arms. i changed the ball Cups from the stearing with RPM once, nothing realy else worn or broken! I replaced the stock bushings in the diff with ball bearing and the diff runs buttery smoth now.:) |

Ok, front bumper, bodyshell and undertray are on its way!
Got some realy nice conditioned vintage brushed motors, within a deal of two vintage futaba FM wheel transmitteres, these where in a package with two chargers, a bag of new brushes and capacitors, some receivers, servos, pinions and spurgears. All motors are in realy good shape and one of the team kinwald is new and unused!:woot: May selling one or two, but not sure, what these are worth. |

Ps.: sorry, couldnt upload more pics, maybe they are to big and i can not downsize them on the ipad!? |

The reedy motors worth more than all the other motors but if for display purposes only then put the reedy in as thats what went in most.

Thanks Welshy for that info!
Here are now the Pictures of the two parts cars and the wheels and tires, i bought with all the parts! Actually i'm looking for a Manual of the yz-10 WCS or Pavidis and a parts list für this model, does someone have one of These, or can shoot me in the right direction? |
Only manual is this, tbh yokomo manuals werent the best for much at the time, they never took a leaf out of kyoshos book to make a decent manual. Think they released three cars, standard kit Masami edition and Pavadis edition.
This link has most manuals out there including the super dog fighter yz10 http://www.retromodelisme.com/manuel...10-yokomo.html |
Thanks welshy, again!
Dang, thought there will be an special manual for the 95, or later yz-10's?:( I'm in the need of some part numbers, as i need some shocks(think they were asso shocks?), upper carbon deck and numbers from drive line, btw. Would like to know, witch spur mounting system was in that cars? As you can se on the pics above, one of the chassis does have the three pce motor mount, was that comming with the kit, or was this always a option/hop-up part? Quote:
|
The motormount was a hop up part number ZD-304s the later ones came with the belt tensioner as what was used in the 97 car.
Looks like the one on the left is a 94 with that alloy mount and the one on the right is the pavadis or 95 car, you need the correct rear tower and top deck to make it really plus the cross wheel adapters that are on the 94 go with the 95 car. If you look on FL's website you can see the difference between the parts needed http://www.fibre-lyte.co.uk/fl/cars/...mpspecial.html Th pavadis came with a carbon top deck rather than a g10 one. If there's a spare set of the black LRP wheels I would be intrested ;) plus it looks like you've got a load of Schumacher 3 spokes from the later hex cars like the fireblade's |
Thanks peakey, for that info too!
As for the LRP wheels, are these the y-spoke bbs typ ones? I do not have the parts in hand, they get shipped today from finnland, so should be here at the end of this week, or at the beginning of next week! Yes, we can talk about a set, when they arrive?:) Mike Quote:

Doh, how could I forget about fibrelyte

Asso shocks for the Pavidis yz-10?
1 Attachment(s)
Does anyone have parts numbers for the asso shocks, wich were used in this model?
I was reading over on rc10talk, that the kit was comming with .71 inch front and 1.02 inch rear shocks, is that correct? On an vintage magazin article from the world winning Pavidis car was stated, that he was using 1.02 up front and 1.32 at the rear, does this need different shock towers too? Questions over questions,..... Parcel is allready in austria, so the stuff will be in my hand tomorrow, or latest the day after tomorrow! Pritty excited, like a little kid on cristmasday!:woot: Ps.: will look at some original top deck and shock towers, if they are to expensiv, will order some from fiberlite, they look pritty goot too! Edit: put the picture of the article and the link to rc10talk in! http://www.rc10talk.com/viewtopic.php?p=379623#p379623 |
Mark used associated shocks, so would guess shocks were from an rc10B2 or B3, mind you i could be wrong. Justin may know better, and manuals easily found on google.
|
What would be a fair price for a set of those schumacher front or rear hex 3 spoke wheels?
Are these hard to get allready? I'll not need them, so will sell them, when i've got them in hous! Thx in advance |
Quote:
If i cant sell them, i will keep them for my svr, as the fronts sets i have, are ball bearing type wheels, rears are hex type. |
1 Attachment(s)
Took apart both parts chassis, it does look like, the previus owner was already using new parts on them, like front and rear diff housings, shock towers, suspension arms, screws, ....
Now i'll start to list and collect the needed, or missing parts, also looking for a new '95 Pavidis chassis, as the used one does have a fiew extra holes drilled in it!:( May will order from fibrelyte, as mentioned aboth? Edit: started to reasemble the runner chassis with all new hardware, some new and best of the used plastic parts. |
1 Attachment(s)
And one picture from the bottom!
As you can see, quite a fiew extra holes in the chassis. |
1 Attachment(s)
There was quit an nice aftermarket feature parts bag comming with the chassis!:)
These are three different cf plates to set ackermann. |
