Schumacher Cougar 2 WORKS REBUILD !!

2 Attachment(s)
So here we go again.....

I won this on Ebay a while back and have kept it in a box until I was ready to rebuild it.

A good friend of mine knew I was looking for one a while back and found this for me.

It was put in the WRONG area of ebay. It was under Tamiya and that was it.:D

Now being the type of good, honest, trust worthy type of guy I am. !! I DID NOT TELL HIM WHAT IT WAS !!.....:lol:

I bid on it and WON IT !! Now when it turned up I realized it wasnt a Tamiya. It was only a Cougar 2 WORKS.......:D:D:D:D:D

I will be rebuilding soon, so will put pics along the way.....

Here are the pics of it when it was on Ebay. Not sure if they are any good.

Nice Tamiya!

Looking forward to seeing this transformation! - What are your plans for the chassis?

xfactor 01-04-2016 04:49 PM

Hi Dan,

The chassis is being Hydro-Dipped. It should be black/silver carbon. Im also having a set of plates done the same. I also have a spare set so will either be purple or the Hydro plates.

I have spent some time on the chassis rubbing down so there is no marks....

Cougar 2 Works Motor Plates.

I have been working on the Cougar 2 Works motor/transmission plates today.

I have stripped and finished them in Mirror Chrome Purple. They look awesome. I will post pics once I have finished the complete Works Gear Box.

:thumbsup::thumbsup:

daz75 05-04-2016 04:13 PM

So do you have to remove all the old purple before you can hydro dip them?

xfactor 05-04-2016 07:50 PM

Hi Daz,

No you dont have to remove the purple. Just all grease etc.. and smooth out any marks for a better finish.

I dont do the Hydro-Dipping its RichyUK on here that does all my stuff. There is a waiting list but worth the wait.

I have done the purple plates today, but these are not Hydro-Dipped. I have another set of Cougar works plates being Hydro-Dipped in Black/Silver carbon.

But I think I will use these Chrome purple plates I did today......:D:D:D

daz75 05-04-2016 08:02 PM

Be good to see it when done

You could but you need to polish the hell out of it, the better it goes to them the better the finished product

daz75 29-04-2016 07:22 PM

Saw a pic of xx and it looked quality and I've got more trinity stuff on.mine who does it go to?

xfactor 29-04-2016 08:14 PM

Hi Daz,

Peaky is right. You need to polish and smooth out any marks. If you dont you will see every scratch/mark as anodising does not hide marks only colours them.

You would be able to HYDRO DIPPED them though. But as above you will need to get all the marks out for a better finish.

I spent a lot of time rubbing out and polishing up the chassis ready for the HYDRO DIPPING.

Hope that helps matey......

daz75 29-04-2016 09:18 PM

Thanks mate what do you use to Polish it

xfactor 29-04-2016 09:23 PM

I have found Autosol to be the best. Its in a black and gold tube.
