No, There comes a B6 around July maybe......

I was very surprised when they replied to me on twitter confirming a lay down car...no time scale or details though. Link to conversation here:

Very, very interesting..! ...wonder what other mods. Team Associated will come up with...

andrewc 30-03-2016 08:00 AM

No worries! I've been toying with YZ2/XB2 as it's become harder to keep up on carpet, though I'm still running the 4 gear so not exactly bang up to date. Looking forward to seeing what they do. They've also posted 2 pics on Instagram (body on) from the IFMAR world's last year with the hashtag #B5mPrototype so they're obviously up to something. Just wish they'd hurry!

xfactor 30-03-2016 05:10 PM

I have just spoke too Father Christmas. He says Christmas for the B6....:D

ralphee 30-03-2016 05:13 PM

Think ill be trying out the Worlds car before then, really fancy one!

Lee

xfactor 30-03-2016 05:19 PM

I wonder if there will be a mid motor option, with the laydown. Cant see it being just laydown as America dont run on carpet/astro. This will be interesting too see what they come up with.... or what options you will get.

ralphee 30-03-2016 05:36 PM

Just a laydown car to cater for Europe i feel Mark, AE seem IMO to be missing out in this area, for all others, for now, the 3/4 gear car will have to suffice?

Lee

adey 20-04-2016 10:23 AM

Any updates on this new car ?

alex97 23-04-2016 05:54 PM

They've just released a b5m limited edition, it's just a b5 with the b5m conversation kit!

ralphee 23-04-2016 06:23 PM

They are slowly revealing Rivkins car currently on FB, it wont be too long now!

Lee

Aire valley 24-04-2016 05:40 PM

Couple of more photos on FB today.....most revealing yet.😃...not only front of arm rear shocks but new lay down 3 gear box etc...!
Looks like it must be very soon......:)

Origineelreclamebord 24-04-2016 06:40 PM

If we have seen the same page, it is the Worlds prototype they used... the waterfall is printed and the gear casing is not very intricately shaped (as such, probably machined).

That said, posting info like this to me comes across highly suggestive that something's due soon :)

Very true, but it does say that 6 specials were built by Gene Hustings for the Worlds.... In reply to comments that they haven't released a Worlds kit, Associated do say " we hear you loud and clear, stay tuned " .....which is the strongest suggestion yet that a Worlds kit is on the way...:)

J77MYF 26-04-2016 01:57 AM

I was told there's a new 2wd coming out in a month or two (three weeks ago) and a new 4wd to follow a couple of months after that. I also heard it was a new platform.

ralphee 26-04-2016 04:29 AM

They are indeed addressing the fact they dont have a high grip car, i asked them a while back, and they are on the brink of an announcement, they also go on to say MUCH has been learned and developed since the Yatabe protos dominated the A final!

we are about to drop some big stuff…..‪#‎WeAreAE‬ quote

RobW 26-04-2016 08:29 AM

To me "big stuff" sounds like more than an optional laydown gearbox on the existing B5M chassis but then again speculating about AE releases is one of my favourite hobbies:lol:

jrenton 26-04-2016 10:12 AM

J-Concepts have a S2 bodyshell for the B5M designed for laydown transmittion, so given their links to AE that would be a possibility

I have tried the Shapeways 4 gear laydown transmittion and this works really well and all in cost is £65. The Yokomo motor plate is the most expensive part of this at £25.

Aire valley 26-04-2016 11:17 AM

On their FB page, AE talk about a milled out chassis for adding weights, a carbon rear tower and the lay down box..! All from the Worlds car, plus some new features..!

brizzlemark 26-04-2016 06:10 PM

Looks like the news we have been waiting for?

I'm expecting a new car to début at this weekends EOS round 4. I wouln't be surprised if AE sent over some of their big guns to run it with Craggy. I expect RedRC.net will be all over it.

neallewis 26-04-2016 06:42 PM

Also check here: https://www.teamassociated.com/cars_.../discontinued/
AE now consider the B5M discontinued...

B6?

markwilliamson2001 26-04-2016 08:15 PM

Yes that doesn't seem to affect the B5M FL which is still available.
The CM and original B5M are discontinued however.

I just wish AE would GET ON WITH IT. All other manufacturers have come up with 3 or 4 gear laydown gearboxes with the exception of probably Kyosho.

I have seen photos on FB today showing clear gearbox cases with a 3 gear letdown setup, shock tower and other bits.

just wish they hurry up. Clearly they have the mould made now, just need to start producing them.

neallewis 26-04-2016 08:43 PM

They are working upto it, with shots of the worlds car finally, then development pieces for the B5M. I think they are building up to release of the new car proving its pedigree by showing the development from the red worksop gearbox, worlds car, test pieces and then the final car. EOS is on Friday, I'm there so expect to see it run there.

Yup will do, looks to be less busy (less entries) than round 3. Back at the Nurburgring again with some VLN endurance GT race Nordschleife action too.

It's looking like a great weekend. I head out Thursday morning.

OneKiwi 27-04-2016 01:23 PM

Have you seen the amount of weight he had in his car? No wonder there are weight slots.
Another AE driver had a shed load of weight at another large race.

Joona's Redworkshop EOS car? Seeing the slot-in weights on the Worlds car reminded me of that straight away.
