josh_smaxx 11-01-2009 11:29 AM

Well at least the computer has come up with a less annoying beep in the last 16 years

Thats great to see, looking at how the club used to be. Also, is it just me or do they seem alot quicker than they are now? :eh?:

dayxwalker 11-01-2009 11:39 AM

Well the cars have changed a bit but not radically ! So I am not sure I mean the CAT 2000 was a good 4WD and I think it would still be competitive now !
The Cougar 2 was terrible on a bumpy track ! but on a smooth track it was a good car as you can see the difference in the vid's
Its a shame that outdoor tack could not be resurrected ! If you look on youtube its just over grown now ! bet the astro turf is still there under all the grass lol
The concrete slap that we used to race on is still visible ! It was mint racing on concrete (foam tires)

josh_smaxx 11-01-2009 11:40 AM

Thats not the track in Thornaby is it? Because i went to have a look at that a few months ago, wierd being there, but i did find a body clip :D

chris68nufc 11-01-2009 11:41 AM

Tim. Wipe out merchant. Thats all i can say. I will be watching you:lol:

Was that Gregg Williams.Oh no. He wasnt even born. I was 10 year old then.;)

dayxwalker 11-01-2009 11:51 AM

I was a little rough back then ! lol but I was 'young'
This time round I am taking a careful approach to my driving !
Mind you a got my 2wd ridden over in every race by some 4wd's on tuesday ! But its all fun !

dayxwalker 11-01-2009 11:52 AM

I hope my Taser Gun turns up tomorrow I have a nice rubber mount set up for it to go on the front of my B4 ! or should I put it on the back ?

chris68nufc 11-01-2009 12:10 PM

Depends if Peter is in naughty mode again and puts me in the bottom heat. No disrespect to the botom heat though.

Chris Green was in our heat and he managed 2 extra laps in the Final. How do you work that out!

wacattack 11-01-2009 07:03 PM

Those indoor tracks are at Harrogate! I may have even been there, just a wee 13 year old whipper snapper

where abouts in thornaby is this josh ?

i could do with some body clips :p

N7ELA 11-01-2009 07:27 PM

Chris you were in the middle heat and everybody got 2 extra laps in the final. I got about 6 in the first race with the dodgy loop, then 14 then 15 and in the final i got 17. James tq'd with a fast 15 and got 18 laps in the final....

turbo_brick 11-01-2009 07:46 PM

You should get at least one extra lap in the final as it counts the first short lap from the start. As for heats the ability on the computer is worked out through qualifying(sp) if you have a bad week it reduces it.

Maybe a stupid question, but why don't teeside run this outdoor track now the warehouse is gone?

Because it was constantly vandalised and burnt down ect.

Gemma 11-01-2009 08:30 PM

Im Famous :)

And the Thornaby Track was actually the other side to where Teesdale Buggy Club set up. We did salvage a bit of the Astro from the old track, but your right there has always been issues with the locals destroys things, and setting fire to buildings etc.

Those where the good old days, I think Im showing my age :(

I think you are wrong there Wayne, defo looks like the old Teesside venue to me. I thought Harrogate used to run at ST John Fishers & before that on the Yorkshire showground, plus i reckon that if you were gonna video at ST John Fishers you would do it from the upstairs pitting area?

1 = Thornaby FC

2 = National was held in Preston Park. Think it was 96/7 but it was the year before we ran the Euro's Off-Road in Preston Park.

Gemma 12-01-2009 12:44 PM

The Euros was held in 1996 at Preston Park.

I was there, and my bro raced, they were certainly the good old days :)
I had a whole week off College!! Whoop Whoop!!
