Ross 30-12-2015 12:30 AM

So the cars that were running last week at silverstone with the lay down gear box aren't the 22 3.0?

discostu 30-12-2015 07:38 AM

No they are the cars the some of the team drivers have

J77MYF 30-12-2015 08:28 AM

Isn't the laydown gearbox an option part for high grip?

I had a go with a standard one on slippy floor/carpet and it was really impressive. So easy to drive straight out of the box.

TLR 22 3.0

Got to race my TLR 22 3.0 for the first time today straight out of the box and all I can say is this car is outstanding. I have never driven a car that is so stable with tons of steering and rear grip without having to dial in. TLR have got a winner with this car and 2 'A' final finishes in second both times is a great start to this new car. Well impressed !

heres mine . i raced at broxtowe christmas cracker , kit setup but pink rear and black front springs , after practice i took the 1mm washer from under the inner camber link ,i also moved the shorty more forward for jump balance , it was ace , came 5th in c final , can was alot better than me , felt planted ,

mes 02-01-2016 06:25 PM

I've been hearing nothing but praise for this kit so far. Although I doubt it will be better than my YZ-2 on my home track, I guess it is about time to give a TLR car a try. :)

I've run a YZ-2 all last year. Last weekend I tried my friends 22 3.0 and couldn't believe how good it was compared to my YZ-2, so this week I bought one and it's having its maiden voyage tomorrow.

It's good the hear positives again about Losi. If I was in the market for a new 2wd this would be one of the options. Is the build quality like other Losi cars I have had a 22 version 1 and an 8ight EU rally cross and both were very good quality.

No. 46 03-01-2016 08:12 AM

The build quality is very high. I have built quite a few kits recently for others and the tlr comes out top. Everything fits really nice and didnt need any fettling to get it to fit etc.

Hey Jim it must be good! Your YZ-2 was pretty damn good.

This is a pretty detailed look at the car https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HkthhHMhebk I've started saving my pennies up!

We all expect a Neal like review of the car after your race today.

Luca.Albanese 03-01-2016 07:46 PM

hello someone who uses losi 22 3.0 on the carpet using the ball differential or the differential gear ?
the differential gear where is it ?

mes 03-01-2016 09:34 PM

Some of my buddies use them with a gear diff. It is a spare part of the RTR 22, LOSA2954.

Luca.Albanese 04-01-2016 08:59 AM

well, so same teeth , the same pace ... mounts easily on losi 22 3.0

richm 04-01-2016 01:43 PM

when i ran my 2.0, i started using the diff form the serpent 2wd cars. fit perfectly and didn't leak, which the losi one had an annoying tendency to do.

Haha I'm not sure about that ;)

I raced mine on Sunday at Batley in standard kit setup. The car did very well to say it had brand new tyres on both ends all day. It's a completely different drive to the YZ-2. It feels more precise and smooth rather than fast and on the ragged edge if that makes sense. It did push on a lot at corner entry and exit. I'm going to play with springs and the VLA to see if I can stop that.

1st impressions are its a very good car and I'm sure there's a lot to come from it.

Stupid question but it's my first foray into rc buggies for 20 years, I've just got a 3.0. About to start the build. In the manual it doesn't make any pinion recommendations so can anyone advise? 8.5t motor running the buggy in standard trim

I'm running a 23T with a 7.5 motor. Anywhere from 22T to 24T would be my choice for an 8.5.
