Wasp/Spec 12v Soldering Iron Tip

Hi anyone,

does anybody remember Wasp racing/Spec 12v Soldering Iron's?

Did anybody take over them or make anything similar, as I'm after a new Tip.

Hopefully I'll hear from someone.

Kane

Hi Kane

I remember Wasp Racing well. Terry Sadler and his family were such amazing people, they ran surrey radio control car club..

I don't believe anybody took over sadly.

Best Wishes
Stu

It's a shame someone did not have the money and time to reintroduced them to rc market

Same here, after many years of service there is now a sizable hole in the end of the tip. If you could message me those details as well Mark that would be ace ;)

To the guys who may have contacted wasp, the guy is in hospital at the moment, so his son will help out when sorted.

Spec racing when i got mine only had a couple left several years back so wonder if the molds or company info is available so these superb irons can still be made available to all. Pmd you with spec racing details.

toyracer69 31-05-2017 03:20 AM

Wasp Soldering iron

Hi All

Just to clear up some confusion that I have just read

Ian Andrews is not the son of the guy who owned WASP.

Terry Sadler who owned and ran Wasp had 2 sons Mark and James.

For those of you who have been around racing for 20 plus years you'll remember a lot of the WASP stuff. There is a thread I read in the vintage section which reminisces quite a lot...and I'd like to thank everyone who contributed there for their kind words towards my dads stuff, towards the engineer Alan, that worked closely with my dad, and the kind words towards my family.

Ian Andrews (Ian Dibble - WLRC) ran spec racing with his father and when my dad decided to call it a day passed over the remaining Wasp stuff to Spec Racing.

Thanks
Mark
