YZ-2 with Bmax4 III rear wishbones.
Anyone thinking about trying the above don't, just get it done.
I ran mine for the first time with them on tonight and what a difference. It's a completely different car, yes the steering is still aggressive (this will be resolved with gull wing wishbones) but if the back end brakes away it's recoverable and no where near as servere as before. It seems to ride the bumps better too and easier to jump if you balls up lining it up. I was coming out of corners and able to get on the power earlier. The grip and side bite generated is emense. It's what the car should have been from the start IMO. I was on the verge of giving up on the car thinking it wasn't for mere mortals but not now I'm loving it. :thumbsup: |

Still think you had something wrong with your build Dave. You are the only person I've spoken to to who's had an issue with the car. Mortals, myself included have all improved with the car, out the box, but you struggled? Glad to hear you sorted it now. |
Does anyone know the exact figure of how much the car is made wider by? and where it is done?
I'm looking to upgrade to this, however im wondering why cant the car be made wider by spacing out the wheel on the adapter like how durango did? |
it's about 2-3mm/side at a guess comparing wishbones.
Widening at the hex/axel alters geometry and roll centre. it is better to move the outer wishbone pin out and keep it close to the wheel. Durango did it the cheap way. |
Moving out at the wheel helps with grip and to a minor extent stability, but moving at the inner pin gives extra roll stiffness as its altering the leverage of the wishbone.

Been running this set up for weeks now, wouldnt go back. I tried it to help with high grip roll, and it worked like a charm, made the car way more stable too.
Have to say though, Neal seems spot on, all ive done is improve with this car, it can bite you, but rarely does and its even better with the wider rear stance. Lee |

Thats what i kinda got Shaun, just a tad over 1mm, may want to try the YZ shafts? Cant see a problem as long as you dont have a lot of droop? Could work till some guys can get the Bmax arms?

Handy if you run both cars. Yz2 arms and shafts onto bmax and vice versa onto YZ2. No worries. :thumbsup:

Ran the YZ2 at Tiverton yesterday, and finished 2nd in the A final. This car is awesome I was right behind first place just behind his bumper across the line!!
I did have one minor issue and that was a drive shaft popping out only did it twice then had no more issues. I was thinking possibly too much droop it did it after landing a jump I took the limiters out the shocks to see how it went but may have to put them back in. All in all in very happy with it I could never get my KF as quick as the Yoke:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup: Callum |
I've put the +1 arms on but not tryed it , is that wrong ?

That'll be interesting to see how that goes. Would it be legal if you go wider again?

bmax rear arms
I'm running wider wishbones with the longer rear dog bones. There is a still room in the box to go even wider if wished

The arm length is added between the most outer shock location and the hub which is good as the suspension shock geometry will stay the same as you change arms

When fitting these rear arms, did people need to use some spacers in front of the arm.

I run +1 bmax4 arms on mine. Shimmed drive shaft in toward the outdrive as much as possible (bmax2 shafts)
Cars fantastic like this for me. Its actually the same width as a kf at the rear in this config. |
I'm confused!
What do i need to do this? I have both a standard YZ2 and a BMaxIII |
BMAX4 arms and BMAX2 axles .

Out of the box the car runs brilliant. With a bit of adjustments you can drive it very fast around the track.:D

Seeing as pretty much the whole team have swapped wishbones now, there must be something in it... so if you have the parts already I don't see the harm in trying it..

Shame the parts are not available though which is shame currently ive tried for weeks to get rear shafts and bones

MB have the complete Bmax2 rear shafts if any good...?

Finally got some shafts B2-010RB
So i need to fit these with B4-008R yea? I gather from comments this stabilises rear end etc and also would be better in low grip, aswell as helping drive in high grip. So If i run yz2 rear arms and shafts on the bmax-4iii does this reduce rear grip? Just have not run car and want to know best setups for best conditions. I noticed neil said if its sandy and loose its better stock arms and bones. Thanks |
