TRF211XM
42288 TRF211XM
Coming soon |
Whats this Chris,
Any pictures !!!!:woot::woot::woot: |
Awesome! Just one thing though... I wish they didn't use this name - for anyone trying to source a TRF211 (The prototype that came before the Dyna Storm) it will be impossible once a car is released with the same name...
Again, that said... I'm curious :) Who has developed this in absence of a EU-top driver? |
I think it will be along the lines of the Yokomo and Xray. Low rider gearbox.
Only my opinion if its been designed for the Worlds.:thumbsup: |
Without any top pro supporting development (even the us drivers havnt been that active with anything) be interesting to see whats changed
But they need to bring it into the times (full front & rear hex hubs, front end to have abit of a make over,) and hopefully they have a XR rear mount version for everybody else not running sugar glazed tracks |

Glad to see Tamiya is still trying to get our money every two years or so:confused::eh?:

Guessing from the name 2 11 I would think it is going to be a car with the motor in the middle and a small belt to the rear like the Schumacher KF2. |
Kentech posted a small translated discription.
What i found interesing: "■ High strength, high elasticity and high impact resistance to the excellent new material "Quick Form (R)" adoption of the bathtub chassis!" Return to the plastic bathtub chassis? |
Yes the new material is similar to what on road bicycles use for composite rims... very strong yet flexible at the same time
|
So its being unveiled at the Shizuoka Hobby show, personally i cant wait. Wonder if it really will be a high grip astro car?

waiting impatiently

Lee |
Blue Low Rider Gearbox YEAH BABY :drool::drool::drool::drool: I know Lee, not long now matey......
|
You going to preorder Mark? Hope it is a low rider high grip car, shock us to our core Tamiya and fit it with hexes too lol!
|
Yes Lee, good chance matey I will order/get one. Cant wait to see what Tamiya have done. If its been designed for the Worlds which has been stated then I would of thought it will be along the lines of Yokomo and Xray maybe ?.
My guess is, Narrow tub chassis like the VEGA. Multi-layout battery options (hope saddles side by side option across chassis) Low Rider Gearbox. Only my guess and opinion but hope its the above. Oh and with a BLUE GEARBOX.....:D |
Oh pack it in Mark im drooling haha!
Lee |
Oh snap, it uses the original bodyshell, that means my two beautiful Kifo bodies will be of use afterall!
Lee |
Sounds like it is going to be a XMW with a plastic chassis and some options.
Since the same body comes with it, it can't be a completely different car if that has to fit, well not that it fits the xmw properly but that's another story. |

I don't think it will be a major update as it sounds like it uses the trf201 front end.
also you can use touring car straight packs with a low profile servo. I think the car could look like the durango 2wd? |
My guess is a current front end, and a revised rear with a low grip tranny, as for the chassis profile, why change that if its not neccessary, yup if say a more dedicated LG car?
And we know Tamiya dont go nuts over bodyshell updates, just look at the 4wd stable! Lee |
100% With Lee on the body front. The majority of buggy bodies interchange. RB6,201,Centro,22 and Jconcepts will fit each other.
As for Tamiya again 100% with Lee, Tamiya dont do bodies again the majority of TRF Buggies DO NOT come with bodies. TRF 201 TRF 511 TRF 502 TRF 503 Did not come with bodies. TRF 501 was a love or hate body TRF 501 Worlds again love or hate it. |
TRF501X body is fantastic! :)
Also bring back shells like Dyna Storm, Top Force, Avante and Egress! Love ém! |
The 501x is one of my all faves, its alien and insane. The Dynastorm, still possibly the most delicate and gorgeous buggy ever created, and i mean delicate in style, its just, beautiful!
lee |
I got body shell and under tray with my TRF502X, only TRF buggy I got it with.

Dilema,
Snap up an XMW as the price has dropped a little or wait for the 211? My XM is working well on carpet. Good to hear it will have an aluminium rear gear box. Helps keep the motor cool and provides a rigid rear section. TRF Blue XM rear gear box definitely has the bling factor so hoping they do the same on 211. So will Tamiya have the only "Plastic" mid motor chassis'd 2wd car? |
Well at least i do still have these two beauties to plonk right on come the time!

Looks pretty close to the XMW that is sitting on my desk right now, but with a new "plastic \ composite \ quickform" material chassis and some option parts. Only real difference in design I see other then the chassis is some connection between the battery brace and the gearbox brace. |
Looks like to me there is a new motor plate with the motor further away from the driveshafts. Will be good to see a bigger picture...... Ha just seen the one above
|
Just wondering will this allow for saddles side by side ?
|
the most annoying thing is to known that there isn't a proper TRFbuggy team to show the potential of this car in the racing scene....why Tamy whyyyyyyy?
|
Was hoping for something more TBH. Motor does look more forward, the rear brace seems to show that, but its like a tweaked plastic Vega.....hmm, need to see more, and still no blooming hex hubs, come on Tamiya, get with the program lol.

Such a waste
Wow... just saved a whole bunch of money after seeing this...... just gave to give up only a arm now for the chassis and little bits to try it out vice losing a arm, leg and other male body part to purchase the whole kit.....
Chassis, battery mounts and rear suspension mounts and you have a 211xm for a fraction of the cost... everything else is XMW or pre-xmw parts....:eh?::thumbdown: |
