How many people 'do' other sports nationally..?
It says on the BRCA homepage that there are around 15,000 UK racers..
Is this accurate do you think? and how many bashers would there be on top of this.. Also how does it compare to other sports accross the UK? Has anyone got any figures? I just wondered what we were comparable to numbers wise... |
Off the top of my head Archery has 30,000 archers in the UK. That's the ones registered for target archery at least (GNAS/Archery GB), there is field archers as well but I've no idea on their numbers it would be a lot less than target though.
|
Out of that 30,000 how many wear tights :eh?:
|
Not sure on the exact number :p
|
Aaarrgghh.......never mind

Somebody at work is in a Yacht club, and he was telling me the other week just how many yacht clubs there are - its must be more popular than I gave it credit for. Forgot the numbers now though
|
Chris,
There are more sailing/yacht clubs on the wirral, than there are speed cameras in Preston :o Now that is saying something  |
There would be a lot of yacht clubs around the place, I do sailing as well as archery and rc cars :P. My local yacht club has 300 odd members alone.

Fishing is the most popular sport in the UK.
Myself, I think it's as boring as ____. |

All I will say is at least "we" dont get the ball and kick it as far away from us as possible to avert any chance of messing our gelled hair up! |
The sister in law is a jockey and the family travel nationally to race on the flat and over jumps. This has quite a big following in the uk too. Not sure on numbers. Good prize money too:D
A few of my mates travel the country to race motocross ( i used to, but too old for it now, oh and unfit!) These meets have great turnouts but there are so many different classes and meetings held, it would be hard to find national numbers i'd imagine? |
