10electric Pairs Meeting 21 Dec 14 Booking in

Hi all.

Please use this thread to book in for racing on Sunday 21st.

This Pairs event will consist of one round and multiple finals. The results from this first round will be used to evenly match drivers for subsequent finals.

Step 1 After the 1st final I derive the Combined time = Average time divided by fastest lap.

Step 2 Drivers are matched / paired, with reference to the combined time.
e.g., fastest and slowest paired, then 2nd fastest & 2nd slowest paired etc.

Step 3 Subsequent finals run and points collated

Step 4 Once racing is finished driver pairs are sorted and their combined points / Results
will be displayed in ascending order.

If anyone has issues and have difficulty in deciphering the notes above they will be explained
at the meeting, or you can call me.

Thanks Nori

Unfortunately we need to put a cap of 30 drivers in place to make sure we have enough time for 4 rounds and a final.

We should be able to have the heats sorted and we will want to start racing at approx. 12:30. So track building is the priority and doors to open at 11:30am. Meeting to finish approx. 5pm..

We need more volunteers to collectively help build / dismantle the track, this also applies at the end of the evening putting away the track. So please help, we get more racing in and get to go home at a reasonable time. Don't leave it to the same individuals to do the honours.

Please refrain from practicing until the track has been built.

The deadline for booking in is 9pm Thursday evening, heat listings will be compiled after this time. If you say you are coming then change your mind for what ever reason, you must let me know as this affects everyone else & the heats will not be evenly balanced,

Doors normally open at 11:30am.

Someone will be there so anyone wanting to HELP with the track can get there for then.

1/10th Buggies, indoors, carpet, slippy floor and jumps. Family friendly and good fun club level racing.

Hi Neil, Vintage racing will continue in the new year.
The way the driver pairs are decided may result in vintage 4wd cars racing against 2wd. They may also encounter maintenance issues that cannot be sorted due to parts, this may put individuals at an advantage or disadvantage. Thanks

Quick Question about Cully

As this will be my first visit to Cully, do I gather that pitting tales are provided or should I bring my own to be safe? Do I need a 12v battery or is there mains power?
Think that is about it...
Thank you

Hi Chris, There are plenty of tables at the village hall.
There are some mains sockets but you may need to tap off another drivers mains reel.
Tea and coffee is free but would ask if you could bring a travel mug and towel for maintenance work. Thanks

I am pretty much a novice as I was a child when I last did this and have only managed to do about 4 meets over the summer at Batley!

Your not the only one I had around 13 years out of RC racing. But it's a good laugh at Cullingworth and only my 5th meet since coming back. You will be fine they are a friendly lot.

Pairs meeting results

The Pairs meeting today was a 1st for Cullingworth, enjoyed by most people.
It was difficult to get the results out quickly as the way the meeting was run, the finals listing changed as drivers got better or worse and breakages.

Racing will be back to normal in the new year and our 1st meeting will on the Fri 2nd January 15.

Hope you all have a good xmas and new year. Thanks Nori

Thanks Nori. Good fun meeting today and great food. You can bring some again if you like

Thanks for trying a new format, and figuring out the results! Good to see the youngsters winning.

I would just like to offer a special thanks to Nori & Karam for not only running a Christmas special meeting, but also for putting in the time and effort to supply excellent food and drinks for all attendees
I think it often goes unthanked the time and money Nori commits to making this a family and fun oriented club with a great atmosphere. I'm sure all others agree, but from me and Jon I'd like to offer very personal thanks. I'd also like to wish the whole Jagdev family a great festive season.

And I would like to add my thanks too. The meeting was great fun, great people and great atmosphere. Thanks to all for making me welcome, to Nori and Karam for the (very unexpected) food as well as all the organising and running, and to John, Neil and Danny for helping set my car up and get my gearbox running properly (who says bearings are overrated!). Turns out With a bit of expertise one can set a modern car to handle better than my old Tamiya Hornet!
Merry Christmas everyone
