2015 oOple Series - Invernational dates!
After a hard fought meeting yesterday evening where we attempted not to clash with any known events - we've not published out 2015 dates for the oOple Off Road Open series and 'Invernational' events.
http://oople.com/rc/photos/misc/news...datesnewsx.png The series entry form will be announced soon! Bury - 16/17 May 2015 Dunfermline - 6/7 June - 2015 Mendip - 4/5 July - 2015 Southport - 25/26 July - 2015 A change for the series for this year will be a TYRE RULE. Rear driven wheels will ONLY be allowed to use Ballistic Spike OR Schumacher MINI SPIKE. No pins, no blocks, no TR32's. If you turn up and don't have the tyres and you're an average driver I don't think we care! If a top-sponsored driver uses tyres you can't buy we'll just take the mickey over the microphone whilst they are racing and put them off. It's a FUN meeting - the tyre 'rule' is to make it fair for us all. Up front you can use anything. INVERNATIONAL 21-22-23 August 2015 With the European Championships being held on the dirt track - James at RHR would likely die if we tried to run on the dirt again this year, so we've chosen to go for the astroturf track at the same venue. Still the same fantastic party atmosphere but with the track we used back in 2010 and 2011 invernational events. It's going to be a good year. If you think you can support the series in any way, with organisation help, reporting help etc. Let me know. Of course your own videos and little reports spread the good name and are very welcome. |

oOple series and Invernational on Astro....
AWESOME !!!! fact |
Had heard rumblings of an event up here, really looking forward to that.
|
Will there be any scrutineering? or battery or motor restrictions?
|
Get in !!! 😊
|
or speedo restrictions?
|
HI, in 2WD and 4WD the only real rules are, hard cased lipo's and the new tyre rule as per the press release above.
The RC10 Classic Class will run again pretty much as last year with handout motors, blinky speedo's and we just need to decide on whether we are running kit tyres or allowing the J Concepts ones again. |
Just had confirmation that Chris read who done the photo shoot at bury for the roger wood memorial meeting will happily provide a full weekends photo shoot including night time activities,
If you seen his photos from rogers meeting you will see you can't get much better. Super close up shots from every angle. Anyone who knows Chris you would of seen him lying down in some very funny positions with his camera fully focused on the race. As I said he will be very happy to help out f.o.c |
Sounds fantastic if he can come, the more the merrier. i hope to have a couple of little cameras to loan out to people to get 'stuff' at all the rounds. it's all about showing how FUN it is at t'end of t' day
|
Cheers jimmy
Chris is well up for it already |
Jimmy,
I will definitely be attending 2 of the meetings and hopefully more once I've sorted my diary out. Can you confirm that the RC10 class will still be for the original, short armed gold tub version and not the latest Kinwald edition? I'm ready to pick up a kit but obviously want to get the right one. Chris |
Maddy,
I think Steve's quadcopter needs to take to the sky again too! Chris |
Hi Chris,
I've just spoke with Steve and due to him losing his job he has been forced to sell his quadcopter,(gutted) Chris read has a tricopter but can only take live filming (gutted again) That quad Steve had was amazing and would of been great again to film the oople meeting. |
I'm up for at least a couple!! And I'm sure some other guys from Oswestry club will be tempted!!
|
Rc10 Classics only I can guarantee that.
James Helliwell has a very nice quad copter and will no doubt be bringing it along. |
Woop Woop

Hi there what has happened to the rhr round normally in June

Invernational is on RHR Astro, which allows the team to take the event north across the border, rather than repeating an event at RHR. Also note the inclusion of the Bury round, and no Stotfold. I'll get to the ones i can. |
oople
I understand that but the invernational is not a first come first served basis and is look of the draw
|
RHR held a round last year and will be holding a BRCA national in 2015 so it's my thinking that the Oople guys wanted to use clubs that had not been allocated a national to promote the series elsewhere.
Bury is only an hour and a quarter from RHR and Southport about 2 hours so they are hardly light years away. Chris |
As regards RHR, James has a lot of meetings to put on next year:
BRCA National Euros Warm Up Euros 2015 Oople Invernational Then almost certainly: North East Regional Mid East Regional Short Course Truck National potentially. So we thought we would give him a break and spread the oOple Series to new venues. |

Get you entries (and payments) in for both OOOS and Invernational when you can. Being paid up early will surely help secure your entry. 2015 is a busy year for RHR, but there will be some other events at RHR Astro during the year. The Yorcc Spring and Autumn cups are well worth a visit. I think it's good to hold the OOOS events at some other clubs/locations this year, even if I won't be able to make all of them myself. |
Team Dremel will be there and the plan is to have a Dremel as a prize for EACH round!
|
Great work Mark, in the current climate that's a positive promotion for Dremel, you must have some good contacts there.
