Does anyone fancy a vintage class?

Yeh as long as it's true vintage not re released, not being able to get parts is part of how you temper your driving and makes you wonder if that dodgy pass or big air is worth it or a wishbone? I've nothing against the RC10's but they should be in a class of their own...

Yeah of course true vintage. I've just rebuilt my Optima Mid with loads of new parts and don't want to scratch it haha. Just thought it would be a good laugh if there was a few of us.

Oh cars! I thought you meant a class for the old gibbers so they didn't keep getting thrashed by kids ;-)

I've got an CAT to the same spec as I used to run the 80`s.

Forgot to mention at the last meeting that our scheduled meeting for this Friday the 5th has been shuffled to the 12th Dec. 10electric calendar updated. This is due to Cullingworth Xmas concert. Tickets are £5 ahead for those interested.

thats a shame. Does that mean 2 consistent Fridays then (12th & 17th)? :P

Bummer, that's no racing for me then this week, or next due to xmas meal on the 12th.

Did you enquire about sunday's in Dec Nori?

No racing, that sucks. A vintage class sounds interesting, I'll have to try get my Cobra working properly again :)

Vintage racing sounds fun, shame I just got into hobby so don't have any vinage stuff.

Sounds good - plus it'll give me more dates to look hopefully at and then think, "bu$$er, can't make it as I have a child's party to drop / collect or a dance show to drop / collect or a swimming lesson to drop / collect etc".
Actually I ought to take up a hobby that involves dropping and collecting and then everyone would be happy, except I'd be starting at expert level...

My original Optima might get a little showing then...

Ha, not likely. I'll go to York Saturday or SYR Sunday for GT12.

I'm sure Nori can squeeze a vintage heat in over one of the xmas meetings.
I could always break out my procat.

I've ordered a new part for my mardave cobra so hopefully my wheel locking issues will be fixed and i can run it. If not I'm watchin a few things on ebay :)

I bought a vintage Kyosho Laxer ZX the other week which I'm planning on running.

Schumacher cougar 2 team + abit, if I get round to finishing it!!!

I'm watchin a Mardave Apache on ebay, ita at £4 at the mo with 5 days left on it, well that's if i don't gety cobra running or i just buy it anyway lol

that's a long time ago - and required a specially shaped battery pack to fit the chassis. Not quite a racing machine - better off with the next buggy they relieased, the Meteor - a Leicester RC10 !

Bri is showing his age with that in depth knowledge of the Mardave range. My first buggy was a meteor from Bob in keighley.

That optima mid jim is something else looks absolutely awesome. That was my 2nd ever rc car after my tamiya falcon.
I've a 1985 rc10 that I can run in the vintage class it's a bit worn and knackered but sure it will do a few laps

That would be brilliant! I've had this car for about 25 years and I've been restoring it over the past few weeks. It's just crying out to be raced again :thumbsup:

My first buggy was an Apache - nearly wore the chassis away under the gearbox! Front suspension got bolted to the front end of a donated Sand Rover/Holiday buggy, but then reassembled and sold to the trainee vicar running a model shop up on the balconies of the Piece Hall in Halifax. Apache wheels fitted the Meteor which was good as I seemed to have a lot of them. Seem to recall I might have had the Meteor at the same time as an original Optima - which replaced a shortened RC10.

I bought a meteor off a kid at school for about £10. That thing was like a tank apart from the gearbox which kept melting.

My first car was a Tamiya Hornet back in about 1986 or 87. I don't miss all the dodgy interference I remeber having.
