It's a xls chassis with a WASP Racing alloy front box

Got my printed T079 parts from Nick (terminator2) today along with a pair of the almost impossible to fine originals. All I can say is very very happy
http://i1345.photobucket.com/albums/...psmlbdsa4w.jpg now all I need to do is get a top deck cut and I'm in business. |
Well les than a month till the revival and I'm not much further along :( but on the up side I've got a new chassis en route from Fathead in NZ and I should have enough time to get it all together I hope :lol:

Got the diffs rebuilt tonight, WASP Racing front all alloy box with new overdrive pulley. And a WASP Racing rear alloy diff drum now fitted with alloy hex ring holders and new Losi diff rings. its almost a Bosscat pro diff very close and spins just as smooth 😎
http://i1345.photobucket.com/albums/...psgpsk4xaj.jpg http://i1345.photobucket.com/albums/...pswdh7civl.jpg Also managed to get them all fitted up with new belts to the MMS Alloy rear box with Bosscat slipper. All I need is the chassis and it should be up and running in no time 😂 http://i1345.photobucket.com/albums/...pswwqsyof3.jpg http://i1345.photobucket.com/albums/...psu22ar3fd.jpg http://i1345.photobucket.com/albums/...pskl7imtlv.jpg |
The chassis landed the other day and it's better in hand than pictures and I'm really happy with how it's turned out thanks Damo .
So I did a bit last night and have hit a snag, I was going to use my MMS rear box but as its shaped round the rear diff and is for a later car obviously there's nowhere for the upper wishboan mounts to bolt to. http://i1345.photobucket.com/albums/...psezpp42iq.jpg http://i1345.photobucket.com/albums/...pstssb0iid.jpg http://i1345.photobucket.com/albums/...psbpbpaepd.jpg http://i1345.photobucket.com/albums/...ps0u8vinmd.jpg So here's my problem what do I do replace he rear end with a standard rear end or replace it with a camber link that will fit. On another note I got the WASP front box in and it fits perfect, I'm just waiting on some new standoffs for it http://i1345.photobucket.com/albums/...psmxwvlkzf.jpg |
Camber link as that box is too dam sexy not to use ;)
|
I know and I'm also thinking that it's not really an XLS unless I use the correct upper links 😕 So I've got some carbon I'm gonna see what I can come up with over the weekend.
Might see if I can come up with some braces like jerone has done here http://s113.photobucket.com/user/JER...T0260.jpg.html |
The silver front box looks good with the black, but the black rear box looks even better! :D
|
Well in the intrest of it being an XLS I had to go with an original wishboan setup so the rear box has gone and been replaced with some more side plates that started out a rather pinkish red
http://i1345.photobucket.com/albums/...psfn1jdo0y.jpg A bit of oven cleaner later and there much better. http://i1345.photobucket.com/albums/...psvovnopk2.jpg Now assembled with a Team Tanaplan alloy wishboan brace as I forgot to order a carbon one 😁 http://i1345.photobucket.com/albums/...psuikjsi1v.jpg http://i1345.photobucket.com/albums/...ps6bysr4y0.jpg http://i1345.photobucket.com/albums/...psyucbma4u.jpg And as I had one I had to add a MMS heatsink for good mesure http://i1345.photobucket.com/albums/...psgpzdneh3.jpg |
Sweet!
|
Silver oneway drive shafts for the front , would look great ...
|
I do have some but there more hassle than there worth I think so I'm just gonna go for standed one ways
|
look forward to seeing the car finished ,it may inspire me climb into the loft .and start on mine [ again ]
|
Do it, this is being built to race and I can't wait to get it finished.
Just thought I hadn't put up a pic of what I got from Damo, I'll make sure I get a pic with the hat on if I win to collect my trophy 😂 http://i1345.photobucket.com/albums/...sevq4m5d6.jpeg |
Did I forget to tell you? If you don't win you have to send my parts back, no refund either!....... :p:D

Managed to get a bit more together last night http://i1345.photobucket.com/albums/...psibswikz2.jpg New shorty fitted http://i1345.photobucket.com/albums/...psyhg4xbzr.jpg http://i1345.photobucket.com/albums/...psk0xbwiw6.jpg http://i1345.photobucket.com/albums/...pshu71ye0x.jpg |
Looks good man, I guess the shorty didn't fit in the rear most position because of the big heatsink?
Did you try the saddles for fit in it?.....duh......of course saddles won't fit if the shorty doesn't fit in rear position... |
I did try the saddles but there's nowhere near enough room for anything else. So I had to go and treat myself to a new shorty so I can cram all my electrics in
|
Oh well, sometimes you just have to buy the new shiny!
|
Looking forward to seeing this on track in 2 weeks time :)
|
I know less than 2 weeks!!! I've still got loads to do on this and I've still got to finish off the Procat too!!
|

Onto the shocks last night, the first set of varishocks I've built and I'm loving the idea of the adjustable Pistons.
http://i1345.photobucket.com/albums/...ps2ggjfvf3.jpg http://i1345.photobucket.com/albums/...ps7gtjfezp.jpg All fitted up and the wheels thrown on and it's now standing http://i1345.photobucket.com/albums/...psralz62wz.jpg http://i1345.photobucket.com/albums/...psnxjwiymc.jpg http://i1345.photobucket.com/albums/...psgv8lbuav.jpg Farther and son together lol http://i1345.photobucket.com/albums/...pspufgqurv.jpg as you can see in the last pic I'm struggling with rear toe  the manual says 24mm of the bar showing and it's massively toeing out. Can someone help me out with the lengths that you've got on your cars plaese  |
