Garry Driffill 06-11-2008 11:37 PM

Not really fancied a Truggy - But that look's damn fine.

GRIFF55 06-11-2008 11:41 PM

Servos - http://www.flighttechdistribution.co...rvos/index.asp

You can order the servos through any TrakPower dealer.

jimmy 07-11-2008 12:04 AM

Thanks c0sie! I couldn't find it, I thought I'd imagined it all :woot:

c0sie 07-11-2008 12:14 AM

Lol, I had the same problem when I went searching the TrakPower and then FlightPower websites!

Anytime mate :)

Dunc 07-11-2008 12:18 AM

josh_smaxx 07-11-2008 07:29 AM

Had a quick look through, not read in detail yet though......... looks well up to normal oOple standards  hats off to you sir.

Gayo 07-11-2008 08:20 AM

Top work as always, Jimmy
The reviews are my favourite part on oOple (apart from Lee-Mag posts:D). It's always a pleasure to read them, surely they are the best thing next to build the kit by ourselves!

BTW, what is the 'JConcepts Competition'?

dave g 07-11-2008 09:05 AM

jimmy was driving a bit like miss daisy..he needed some verbal encouragement :)

jimmy 07-11-2008 10:23 AM

Thanks chaps  Yeah I was a big pussy in the final there until Dave shouted some words at me - then I was like a nutter.

JConcepts competition - coming (very) soon! nothing to do with this Tamiya review of course.

Stu 07-11-2008 01:10 PM

Could be, haha:thumbsup:

Northy 07-11-2008 01:51 PM

Stu 07-11-2008 02:37 PM

No not going - :(

I'll send some goodies with D-Mag.

Northy 07-11-2008 02:46 PM

Credit crunch ??

triplesix 07-11-2008 03:40 PM

I really enjoyed this review - as usual!
One thing i've noticed: could it be you mounted the brake pads upside down?
This machine looks really mean, but it seems one has to unscrew nearly the whole front or rear end to remove an tune the diffs... at least, it seems more work than on most other cars.

666

Credit? Whats that? Is it something connected with blagging an X-5 chassis?

That's an ace name - I wish I was called that.

Lee 07-11-2008 04:12 PM

I know TC told me to bring whatever i have chassis wise :o

Northy 07-11-2008 04:15 PM

Stu, I have a whole X-5 if you need it :)

Stu 07-11-2008 04:18 PM

yeah somene pointed that out earlier haha. It's right now but when building and taking photos its all too easy to build stuff FOR a photo and lose concentration.

Stu 07-11-2008 04:55 PM

Look at the way I nearly ruined a pred.

Lee 07-11-2008 05:28 PM

Did you breathe on it :woot:

mole2k 07-11-2008 05:30 PM

Great review Jimmy, I noticed a page not rendering correctly on chrome though.

Page 7 the jconcepts wing is center aligned instead of left aligned, I can send a screenshot if you want to see.

jimmy 07-11-2008 05:35 PM

cheers bud, I forgot to check it in other browsers, I will take a look! :)

James 07-11-2008 05:43 PM

Amazing review, going to be hard to top that one ;)

Scouser 07-11-2008 08:04 PM

Loving the review dude, awesome as ever. I am also loving the extra nitro contents recently. Oddly it is an area I seem to be getting drawn (back) into. How did you enjoy racing the smelly cars?

jimmy 07-11-2008 08:11 PM

it was good tbh - having the engine reliable is the main thing, if i've got to mess about with it then it's just going to kill it for me. the engine DMS Racing kindly lent me was great though. I enjoyed the long final, 22minutes meant even though I had a really bad bit of luck with an engine cut, I still managed 4th.
I've a couple more nitro reviews in my mind at the moment tho nothing is confirmed.

Darren Boyle 07-11-2008 08:49 PM

Jimmy, feel free to keep the REX for as long as is needed mate, I have about as much chance of getting my 8IGHT-T up and running this side of whenever....... (probably Easter) that I have more chance of winning the lottery tommorrow (and I dont even buy a ticket!!!)

When I need it I will let you know in good time, but for the time being just treat it as your own, I really, really mean that.

Darren

P.S. Review was very good by the way, just a shame Tamiya UK (Hobby Co) are not equally as good!!!

bigred5765 07-11-2008 09:00 PM

does that mean lean the s++t out of it,and give it death , lol:)

Belsten 07-11-2008 09:06 PM

This review is really top notch well jone Jimmy. It is creating an argument in my owm mind as to whether buy one of these for my 1st ever venture in to nitro  Keep up the great work fella

glypo 08-11-2008 01:03 AM

Great stuff. I just read it right through, another great review Jimmy. I don't know how you do it.

Certainly good that it is a Tamiya review as well, doubt many of these will make it our tracks due to the support that you mention. Although I am sure your review will boost numbers, it looks good.

Top work
