Lee 06-11-2008 10:10 AM

Are you thinking of going G?

Mike Hudson 06-11-2008 10:17 AM

it looks like dead grass and dirt, would still go though i'm sure it will be a good track to race on, what does the surrounding area have to offer?

Eotz 06-11-2008 10:22 AM

Hello all. :D

Iīm member of the Club Carbi and I designed the layout of the circuit. I should tell you that from the driving position there isnīt any problem to see completly the circuit. The track is made with vegetable land (I think this is the correct traslation) and artificial grass. The track is 3 meters wide in every single point.

The circuit was open in the last race of the Spanish championship and it was a great succes bettwen the drivers. The average lap is about 28 or 29 seconds so is quite fast circuit if you think that is longer than 200 meters. The circuit is placed inside one big public sport club so have really good facilities, includig really nice open swimmingpools (For the family ;))

Next you can see one of the 4x2 finals and some pictures:

http://picasaweb.google.com/AlfonsoPeralesPalacios

This circuit is a great advantage for UK drivers because there is a direct ferry line bettwen Porstmouth and Bilbao so you can take directly all your RC stuff in your own cars.

The Txurdinaga Sport Club (The sport club where the track is) is located inside the city and less than 100 meters to the subway so is also very confortable to move in the city.

If you need more information just ask me.

Best regards. :p

Chrislong 06-11-2008 10:28 AM

I like it. Im hoping to be going to this one.

Id have loved talypain if it wasn't for me struggling to see important parts of the track.

Hi all!

I can say everyone wonīt be disapointed about the track. These pics are from the Spanish nationals with the track made in a hurry cose the previus club venue was closed.
The Euros track will be way better, with better and more technical jumps considering such a race is coming. I bet the spanish organization has put on the table much more than what we can see in the pictures to get the race.
Hope to see you all at the race.

Eotz 06-11-2008 05:45 PM

Hi again.

First at all, the circuit will recibe more jumps and other improvements for the Euro 2009, so people, be cool. By the other side, as all the drivers of the Spanish championship can confirm to you that the organization skills of the Club Carbi is one of the best of all the spanish championship.

Second, Bilbaoīs metropolitan area is about 1.000.000 people and there are lots of conections bettewn Bilbao and the United Kingdom. As I say you can take the ferry line bettwen Porstmouth and Bilbao or you can fly with Easy jet directly to Bilbao from Stansted airport, you can also fly with ryanair (I canīt remember from wich Londonīs airport is, I think that from Stansted too) to Santander, that is one Spanish city at about 120 km from Bilbao. There is another direct fly from Heathrow to Bilbao with Iberia/British Airways but this is more expensive.
Someone say that is better to cross the channel and drive to Bilbao than take directly the ferry, and in my opinion that is completly brong. You have to think that is more than 1000km accros France. In other words, more that one day driving in France, pay the french highways, gasoline, food and provably one night of hotel and all the stress of driving more than 1000km.

This could be also a nice family trip for more than one week of tourism. Bilbao, the Basque Country and northern Spain in general offers many interesting things to do. Beach, mountay, green forest, great gastronomy and one paradise for the surfing lovers, and really good museuns like Guggemheim museum. San Sebastian is another basque city at just one our driving along the coast line direcction french border. You can also visit The Rioja that is at about 1 and half hours driving to the south and many other things.

Donīt worry, you will recibe more information. For the moment I have no idea about the control tyre but you will be awarned with a long time in advance.

Regards.
