Servos
What do people use?
|
ACE / TTR DS1015 is in prolly 90% of race stuff.
generally KO is not tough enough though there will always be some who love them and swear by them. |
i spent sat testing the new trakpower ones in a rally x car, top notch bottom of page http://www.flighttech.co.uk/Products/Servos/index.asp
|
I've been using the ino-lab from trakpower in my Tamiya 801XT truggy, been excellent - they'll be in the review of course.
|
I read 2173/2174's not sure which for throttle/steering. This was a while ago, not had a go for a couple of years myself.
|
Yeah -= I keep hearing goodness about the INO-Labs
|
I am also looking into what servo's to run, I saw a micro ino-lab servo in a micro car and it was amazingly fast, I didn't know they did 'full size' servos too!?
|
when i did 8th it was the ttr ace 1015 and 1013, think these are now an associated part. i know most of the top boys swear by them, quick, strong and last ages and most of all they are cheap at 65 ish quid each, not as cheap as the flightpower ones i know but are definatly a proven servo at all levels of racing
|
Northy broke two of the ACE servos!

........until I took two teeth off the other side of the same gear at the Neo :lol: Bruce to the rescue  G |
I thought you were the sanwa man Dave?
I've got an ACE servo myself, which I was going to use in the Tamiya, but I got the ino-labs to test out and was happy with their performance. |
sanwa radio gear,ace servos.
my 1015 steering one is 3yrs old ,and gets abused for at least 45mins every weekend, original set of gears too. the sanwa servos are good but overpriced when compared to the ace ones...some shops do 2 ace servos in a bundle for £99. oh and answer your bloody pm's jimmy :) |
I'm still in need of some ACE 1015 gears :woot:
G |
haha..
i have a set of new gears here :) |
How much mr?
G |
£8.50p ,not in packet but brand new.
or swap for a brushless speedo and motor... |
Is that your best price boss?
G |
i might as well keep for spares as let them go any cheaper G,jiffy bag and recorded delivery minus paypal fees and i will be lucky to see £6 lol
could try here http://www.fast-lad.co.uk/store/prod...oducts_id=1528 |
Ive noticed how there are a few electric racers taking an interest in 8th scale since the neo press release, i hope you dont rob places from us dedicated 8th scale racers :D:D
The ace servo's are definatly the benchmark in 8th scale, they are also pretty well priced when you can buy a pair for £100. The 1015's are the ones to get. I used the XP (associated) version of them for a while and although i didnt physically break any i did have to send a load of them back as they started twitching badly when on idle, i think around 10 went back because of this over the cause of 6 months. The returns policy on them is excellent and they get replaced straight away, a lot of people leave them when they start twitching but i always returned mine. I have since swapped over to the new futaba Brushless servo's which although twice the price of the ace's they are a much nicer servo, they are so smooth and powerful i think they are worth the extra outlay. I use a BLS351 on steering and BLS451 on throttle and they have been flawless, i have 6 servos in 3 different cars which have been ran for 5 months and i have had zero problems. ONe really nice feature is that they have proper gaskets on the cases which really keep the moisture out, the Novarossi GP last month was flooded and i ran my car through the worst of the rain and i checked my servos after to find they where bone dry. Other people running aces didnt have the same water tightness. The Futaba servos definatly get my vote. However the cost effective solution is definatly the Ace/XP servo's Jimmi.. |
does it not say 8th elec by invatation?

bias yes but cutomer service is second to none and trakpower carry full spares. |
TBH
I have used both the BLS351, BLS451 and both Aces and can recommend both. |
