Does reinforcing the bulkhead just mean you break more towers?
I run a modified cougar KF tower protector and not done a bulkhead top or tower since I've been running it (or with the the old lexan wing tower protector I fashioned) |

fits really neatly with some dremel work. Attach it with the countersunk washers/CS screws into the bulkhead top screw holes. Mine has taken a beating. |

My B max is very noisey from the spur , any idea how to turn it down o notch ? |

Yeah the spur noise has been covered earlier on this yea in the main Bmax4III thread. There is a bit of bearing slop in the slipper motor pod. With the top plate off, place some squares of tape on either the top of the bearing edge, or on the underside of the top plate where is will make contact with the slipper bearings. This packs out the bearings in the mounts and stops the movement and noise. I noticed the newer centre mount (B4-304C2) that comes with the lightweight chassis is a much better fit around the bearing. |
Hi neal, just wondering how much Dremel work is needed to get the kf nut protector to fit the bmax4, because I don't have a Dremel  and I need to sort something out before Worksop starts. Thanks.

My reds workshop protector arrived today. Just needed to use some longer screws but the fit is spot on. I also swapped the screw around that goes through the shock standoffs so that the nut is on the backside of the tower. This stops any screw and nut protruding out of the front of the car so should hopefully reduce digging in on the astro a bit.

They are a nice bit of kit. Got mine the other day. I'm going to give a bit black paint before it goes on the car.

http://courgette.jml.net/~neal/RC/Yo...rotector-t.jpg It's minimal dremel work and works really well. not had a breakage since using it. Sure its not the prettiest thing, but it does work. |

I've seen some tidy ones made from a piece of plastic pipe heated and moulded to fit. you just want to stop the shock top nuts and bolts hitting first. |
|
I use a TC tyre cut and Zip tied to the top of the tower, ive had some epic fails, and still not broken a thing on the car, indoor and on 6.5t, its simple and ready does take the brunt of the tower digging in. I do like Neals use of the KF lexan cover though, very nice!
