A new resource for b-max(2/4) lovers
Currently I'm working on two dedicated 'b-max' websites. This means: one for the b-max2 and one for the b-max4.
This means: a dedicated source for both cars on both seperate websites. I know there is PetitRC and I love PetitRC, but it's a bit static. There isn't much going on to interact with other b-max people. Yeah, we have Oople (and even PetitRC forums) for that... But not everyone is on Oople or speaks English. I'm looking into this, so a couple of highlights I'm thinking of implementing: * Setups [upload/download/'share'] & ratings * Show your b-max * Where to get Yokomo stuff * Where to get upgrades * Tips&tricks (there are a lot of things happening) * Mobile first, so optimized for your tablet/mobile when you are at the track Yes. I won't be building a forum as it would be a duplicate of all those other forums. I prefer Oople. My profession is to build software, so I'm looking forward to put a alpha version online soon. Any one interested or maybe some tips/features wanted? Thanks |
Whoop whoop!!! Can't wait!
|
I'm currently building this (from scratch). Will provide some screenshots soon.
|
Just did some work. It's all running with a database and stuff.
Layout isn't done yet, but i'm already done with a base layout: http://bmax2.eu/img/2014-08-14--1408...x849_scrot.png It's all responsive. All setups will be converted to png and are downloadable (if available) as PDF. More soon, as I quit developing for tonight. |
Any news yet?
|
Not much. Did some more development work last week. Will put a béta online soon. I will continue development tonight.
First version won't include several 'user' features like : uploading your own setup, reviewing and sharing. This will be included in further releases. Once online, I plan to do a weekly release schedule. So every week new features. |
Release is near. Just finishing up some things.
See some progress in the setup list and details: http://bmax2.eu/img/bmax2eu.v0101.png http://bmax2.eu/img/bmax2eu.v0102.png If all goes allright, I will post some new stuff tomorrow. Oh to clarify: the website is fully database powered.. no more html hacking and manual updating. List in screenshots is incomplete, it's test data. |
Looks cool. Can't wait to try it.
I take it initially you will maintain the setup sheet list until you get the submission engine working? |
Look good!
I wish I could have done the same thing but ... each one is job and skills |

I'm currently adding a shop list - so people can see where to buy the great car . I've had no contact with shops (I need their permission first, i guess) yet, but will do once online. I will post some updates tonight, it's getting close. I hope lots of people will use it. Maybe, if possible, I'll post a test (for stable) link as well, just so you all can try it out. Oh, everything is free of charge of course, I don't want people to pay, this hobby is more than expensive enough :P @Arn0, thanks. I should thank you as well, I know it takes a lot of work to maintain a website. But I would like to involve the drivers to upload and talk about their own setups (and more). |
Great setup link looking forward to using it
|
Keep up the good Work!
|
Two more. A better idea for you guys. I like a clean layout, don't like all kinds of flashing stuff :p
The car in the header is mine, but in the future there will be more cars.. so if you have nice pictures.. please let me know :) I'm working on to make it a bit more "Yokomo style" http://bmax2.eu/img/bmax2eu.v0103.png http://bmax2.eu/img/bmax2eu.v0104.png |
Just finished up the setup submit form. Have to tweak the submit process a bit this week and I'll probably put it online then.
http://bmax2.eu/img/bmax2eu.v0105.png |
Just in case your (local) track doesn't exists, you can add on submit:
http://bmax2.eu/img/bmax2eu.v0106.png And able to select on adding. Submitting now works. I expect to release next weekend  http://bmax2.eu/img/bmax2eu.v0107.png |
I totally forgot to implement 'Track Conditions'. This has been done now. The only thing is that I'm not happy with the form. It's too busy. Will have to sort that out.
http://bmax2.eu/img/bmax2eu.v0108.png Adding goes smooth. Easy user experience. List also has been updated a bit. Still have to find a decent way to display track conditions. http://bmax2.eu/img/bmax2eu.v0109.png Any likes so far? |
Looks good so far. I guess you can't get a feel for it from screen shots, until you actually use the site. looking forward to using it.
Not sure how relevant/useful the slider for traction % is? e.g define 45% traction? |
Slider is more to specify the traction level. Imo it's better than low/medium/high grip. Since "75% grip" is between medium/high.. Maybe I'll refactor that functionality in the future.
If all goes well, first version goes online on Sunday. Maybe Saturday if I'm lucky :p |
Just put a test version online for some people. When more testing is done (and I'll release some bug fixes) I'll push the site to bmax2.eu. If all goes well, should be friday :D
|
Sorry for the delay on pushing code to bmax2 as I had some other stuff to do. If all goes well I'll launch the first version of the website this Wednesday.
I'm working on some small bugs now - then will test - and will release. Hope you are all looking forward to it. First version will be a bit bare, but functionality will be added throughout time. |
Is this up and running yet looking forward to using it
|
This evening. First I've to eat something and then I'll set the first version up.
|
Wot is the site
|
Very easy:
http://bmax2.eu It's up. Check out the setups. You can add your own setups in case you want. Want to give any feedback? Feel free to reply. I will try to do a 2times per week update schedule. So next is planned for Sunday. Some new features are already in test ;-) |
What the site

http://courgette.jml.net/~neal/RC/Sc...6-20-27-11.png Looks the same even when "request desktop site" is checked in android chrome. I'll try adding a setup... |
I'm aware of that issue, but thanks for reporting. Will be fixed in coming versions. I already fixed some stuff this evening. Will put it live tomorrow. Nobody will notice probably ;)
|
Updated to 0.4 yesterday. Also added a new default editable setupsheet: http://bmax2.eu/files/setupsheet/BMa...AX2EU_P040.pdf, which also can be downloaded from http://bmax2.eu/setups by clicking on the blue button.
Next up in line: search engine optimization and starting on the list of shops. The database stuff for the shops has been made already. Now I need to find a decent way of listing the shops and show some shop details. I won't add shops by myself, so I will contact shops (if interested) in the future. I will fix a performance thing quick, so the site will load faster. |
This week I'll do a release with the current work done:
Performance, so it all loads a bit (well.. up to 20% on dev) faster. The layout looks a bit better now and some errors while adding setups are fixed. Also I started on a part-list thingie, more news soon. |
With the release of the YZ2 I decided to change some stuff. I will merge it all together in a platform for the YZ2, B-Max2 and 4. This will require some more work, but in the end this will work great.
I also registered byz2.eu and yz2.eu. So more news on that soon. At the moment I have the 'merge thing' going, but I will still need to work some (development related) things out. |

Just to update you all:
i've implemented the following already: - support for B-Max4/2 and YZ-2 (including setups etc.) - easier to add a setup - different and final design (which just works a lot smoother) This is currently still in development and is currently being tested. If all works out, i'll put it online at the end of the month. More news soon, as I decided to make some more enhancements to the website and related services. |
Final release is soon.
More news on our Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/yokomozone Busy busy busy  |
Decided to change some more stuff.
New domain (easier..) : http://yokomozone.eu Also, i'm working on some more interesting stuff in the future. For now: you are able to add your own setups and of course, read some information about models and stuff. I'm sorting out some nice Yokomo related pictures as well, this should give the website are more Yokomo feeling. That's something I start working on this week. |
