More pre-bookings received, new ramp construction underway. :) |
Right chaps, we now already have 52 drivers pre-booked for Round 1 of the 2014/15 WBMCC Indoor Off Road Championship, which is being held next Saturday, 25th October.
We're expecting more drivers to book-in on the day, so this is looking like it's going to be a good championship again this year, especially with the inclusion of the Iconic RC Vintage Off Road classes. If you want to ensure your place and get practicing as soon as you arrive, please pre-book using the link earlier in this thread. Video from last year's series: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pxQ4JzRzjRg Cheers. :) |

And, practice will begin at 8.15am, so arrive on time so we can get through all of the racing in good time.
The heat lists will be posted on the day, because I am sure we will have more drivers who have not pre-booked. See you tomorrow. :) |
can I make a suggestion that practice is timed so that everyone has a fair turn.
I'm sure Dave did this at least one round last year and it worked well. thanks james |
Practice was timed and there was a practice list printed.
We had 12 heats of practice, 10 heats printed and then 2 additional heats added for drivers that booked in that morning. ........ It was a fantastic day, a big thanks to all drivers that attended.:thumbsup: A big thanks to the few that stayed to help pack away, managed to get out just after 6pm :D, to find I had a flat tyre.. |
Could we have just one round of practise next time maybe (4mins)
As the 2 rounds combined with other delays contributed to the later than usual finish , racing didn't start till around 11 :( Most people were there from around 8.15 . All good otherwise though :) |
Great start to the 2014/15 championship yesterday. Great to see the Iconic RC vintage cars running alongside the modern-day machinery too.
Top 3 in each class from R1 are as follows: 2WD Craig Collinson 200 John Spencer 197 Eugene Galley 197 4WD Leigh Richardson 200 Simon Smith 197 Mick Butler 194 Iconic RC Vintage 2WD Stefano Lazzarato 200 Mark Stanton 198 Dave Dodd 196 Iconic RC Vintage 4WD Ian Watson 197 John Weston 194 Justin Peake 193 Full results will be posted on wbmcc.com soon... Well done to all, we hope you had a great day's racing. See you at R2 on 29th November. Thanks for the feedback above; the rationale for 2 rounds of timed practice (3mins each) was to allow everyone the chance to get their cars set-up before qualifying. We could easily change that to one round of 5mins though, so we'll consider it for next time. :) |
First time racing at the club and event and what a great day all round. Good size track and well ran and friendly people. Personally I thought the 2 rounds of timed practice worked well ( turned up with a new un-run buggy lol ) , and really enjoyed the day. Hats off to all involved  and will defo be doing more rounds.
|
Very good first round of the winter series, it did go on a little longer than last year, hopefully the little problems will get ironed out. The 2 rounds of practice were very good, gave you a little time to try a couple of things ready for qualifying.
My only disappointment was the standard of driving not only in my heats but also in other heats I watched. People must realise you are racing the clock in qualifying and not each other. |
Thanks for the comments, good to hear; we'll take them all on board.
It was a shame we had the couple of timing mis-haps and had to re-run 2 heats. Someone unfortunately wiped out the co-axial cable to the loop, and so we had to replace it with the spare. :( We now have a protector for the loop box, which will avoid that happening next time. Looking forward to R2 on 29th Nov. |
Good start to series, nice big open track with a good few jumps in and good cross over. Good meeting.
Will the track be the same? or are you changing it each round? |
