Club Meeting - 15th June

Forecast for Cleckheaton for tomorrow looks good for the time of the meeting. Light showers are forecast for 1600 hours but we are usually done and dusted by then anyway and the last time we had a similar forecast to this - it was a glorious day!

See you at 10.15 am.......

Excellent. Nothing more certain to bring rain than me being allowed to come and play so I shan't tell anyone...

Ashlandchris 15-06-2014 08:01 AM

It's my own personal cloud:thumbsup:

Forecast says dry from here on in

neallewis 15-06-2014 08:14 AM

Rain in Bradford too, but forcast says rain in cleckheaton at 10, but clear by 11. shall we just start a little later?

neallewis 15-06-2014 08:18 AM

http://www.raintoday.co.uk shows it will pass and be clear later.

DianneH 15-06-2014 08:19 AM

Raining here at the moment too - could try later but not sure how many will turn up.

My mobile has gone down again so I cannot send any messages - this is about 5 times now in the last few months. I have asked for a replacement mobile so they are looking into it.

If contact can be made with a few others and we know whether or not it is worth going later then please post on here....

neallewis 15-06-2014 08:24 AM

as if on cue, it has now stopped raining in Bradford.

SuperSparkSteve 15-06-2014 08:25 AM

I dont mind starting a little later.

DianneH 15-06-2014 08:26 AM

Still raining in Dewsbury - could do with an update on Cleckheaton.

SuperSparkSteve 15-06-2014 08:26 AM

Still a bit of light rain in Cleckheaton.

jim sykes 15-06-2014 08:28 AM

what times everyone getting there?

Bells 15-06-2014 08:28 AM

Just started heavy rain here ,

neallewis 15-06-2014 08:29 AM

it's clear and looks clear now in Bradford. i think it will pass cleckheaton and we'll hsve a clear day.

Mike Parker 15-06-2014 08:32 AM

Has just eased off here in east ardsley, just had a look at the BBC forecast for Cleckheaton and showing light cloud for the rest of the day now. Hopefully today will be a goer

DianneH 15-06-2014 08:32 AM

Another hour could make a difference.

If we arrive about 10.30-10.45 am we could start to get everything ready and not lose too much time.

Only concern is that some may arrive, see no-one there and go away if we go too late.

Also - are we going to be able to mow the grass?

Oscar 15-06-2014 08:33 AM

Just a brief shower here about 10 mins ago
Weather is clear again now.
As the forecast is set to improve throughout the day,
Why not meet up around 10.30?

Ashlandchris 15-06-2014 04:56 PM

Thanks all for turning out today. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Sorry if my son was marshaling the races you were in. I'm sure he'll get better.

Shandy 15-06-2014 06:59 PM

Thanks to everyone I talked to for making me feel so welcome on my first ever meet. Apologies for those who I crashed into/cut up/got in the way of as they lapped me..
To the chap who I helped hobble back to his chair after his spectacular fall on the double humped jump thing, hope your ankle feels better soon, and finally to the driver who's buggy parted my hair for me as I knelt behind said jump - thanks, it's a good look for me I think - I reckon I could do without the 'brown adreniline' this brush with death produced next time though, if thats ok?

pddiggy 15-06-2014 07:07 PM

Thanks everyone really enjoyed today. Thanks for running it Dianne. Hope your leg is feeling better Paul

neallewis 15-06-2014 09:03 PM

yup goood fun meeting today even of john price did cheat me out of my second place.
i hung about flying with Paul and after 5 a load of bashers turned up with nitro cars. they saud they had been coming for months, and no one had said they couldn't. i informed them that we get complaints from council and neighbours, and said it was electric only.

this could be why we are finding the astro to be particularly greasy, if they have been coming for months.

i did inform them of the local nitro tracks nearby.

Aire valley 15-06-2014 10:05 PM

Well done Neal ....nitro cars will give the track some stick so probably why it is badly worn in some places.......wouldn't be so bad if they did some maintenance..!

smokes 17-06-2014 06:35 PM

If there are a large group nitro bashers using the track would it be worth googling them to see if they are on a forum somewhere?
