Hello peeps,

Some pics of my mate Adey's RC10 Worlds re-release.

He asked me to upload for him cos he's a technophobe! Lol

adey 27-05-2014 09:27 PM

Thanks Wes. I also want to thank xfactor for the paint job. He got it spot on.

xfactor 27-05-2014 09:35 PM

Looking good Adey, that looks like a nice replica of a Associated legends car.

Mr D. ? ;)

adey 27-05-2014 09:44 PM

Yes indeed. Mr Drescher replica sort ov. I don't have his stickers but I am happy with it. He was the local hero racer at marston palmer track back in the day and I wanted a car just like his.

neallewis 27-05-2014 10:02 PM

Looks nice. are those rear tyres just for carpet?

adey 27-05-2014 10:28 PM

They are yes. I am going to try it at my local club on Friday

adey 28-05-2014 10:50 AM

Now shall I call up Fibrelyte and order the tub chassis. Hmmmmm

ralphee 28-05-2014 11:30 AM

That came out fantastic, C/F tub would be superb, wish i could still get them to knock vintage Yokomo ones out.

adey 28-05-2014 11:57 AM

Have you asked them if they still have the mold to do it ?. Martin there is very helpful.

ralphee 28-05-2014 12:14 PM

I think others have tried Ade, but to no avail, i may call them anyhow, would love one for the works and one for the '94, recall Chris Grainger running them back in the good old days before 190mm lol, sadly, can't find pics of his cars!

adey 28-05-2014 12:18 PM

Martin hansell at Fibrelyte did me a mardave cobra one. They are no longer available but he found the mold for me and did it.

ralphee 28-05-2014 03:52 PM

Ill try them mate, just broke out the brush to emulate that shell on a YZ10, not painted for a long, long, wow, long time lol!

Buggyman 28-05-2014 04:10 PM

I think that's one of the best looking vintage rc10s I have ever seen. I really want that car.

adey 29-05-2014 11:58 AM

Thanks buggyman.

adey 31-05-2014 10:10 AM

Tried the car on carpet last night and got it going really good. I ended up changing oils and pistons in the rear shocks and adding 40g up front. I am going to limit the droop on the front and see what it's like next week. I have installed a brushed system but I'll now get another brushless motor and esc to put in.

Thought I'd add some pictures of mine. Haven't fitted electrics yet. Looking at a budget LRP Brushless System in the near future.

adey 09-06-2014 02:27 PM

Like that very much. Anyone else got one ?

I think "yes" ...!
Just look at the one above..!

bretts 28-08-2014 06:04 PM

Hi Aire Valley Alan, isn't it time you dug out Steve's and your 'real' rc10's from your shed and posted some pics on here of how to cut a gold tub down to save weight.

Aire valley 28-08-2014 09:00 PM

Hi Brett ... I think that the cut down and lightened gold tubs disappeared some years back... However, I do still have Steve's last RC10 gold tub car from late eighties and,of course, my '92 worlds car , in Masamis' colours (painted by Simon Major) and complete with Cliff Letts' transmitter that he gave to me after the '92 Reedy Race..!! Might try and post a picture of that.! ..Happy days
Incidentally, one of my old cars from back then, was for sale on here a couple of weeks back..it was the full Andy's carbon conversion with body shell painted by Jules from Modelsport...! I swapped it with Andy Smith over 20 years ago..didn't look like it had been run since...was very tempted but have too many old cars..!

This weekend was the Castle Hill Vintage Festival (Sydney, AUS). Ran my Worlds car for the first time and picked up a hard fought 2nd in 2wd Open.

The car is standard, except for green springs. Tires are JC Bar Codes Blue. I ran a Reedy 9.5T which was the perfect amount of power and driveability, through an LRP SXXv2 ESC, Sanwa Servo and M11X.

ran mine this Saturday at yorcc for the first time.ran in sealed can 540 class, suffered understeer but corner to corner speed was ridiculous.rc10 was built by proracing.spec consists of mtronics ip6 speedo, savox 1251 servo, sanwa radio and Saturn 20t motor.bodyshell is replica of craig drescher's.looks a lot better in natural light.

What tires are those? It looks like an HPI X-pattern radial, but buggy size?

tires

I believe those are pro-line tire and propyl on a 2 inch wheel

xfactor 28-10-2014 12:39 PM

Tyres on (Adey) RC10 pictures are the Schumacher Venom on the rear.

adey 28-10-2014 12:54 PM

Yes they are venom 88 tyres from schumacher. Used on carpet. Xfactor did the paint job.

Ive got an untouched one if interested. Never got the car to go with the chassis, ended up with a 91 worlds winner instead.

2nd time out at yorcc yesterday.few things changed since first run out 3 weeks ago.most noticeably new shell in brian kinwald replica.front rims trimmed down and standard kit shocks now running losi big bore springs.car seemed to sit a lot better through corners.massive improvement landing off jumps.hopefully a couple more tweaks before next outing should help me keep on the pace of top boys.

Mushman 24-11-2014 06:58 AM

Some great cars being shown here. Retro stuff is like an RC drug. Keep the tuning tips coming. Its good inspiration for my own re-re project. Which has been delayed slightly by life, racing, and every single re-re kit defect known to man. Quality control was pretty pants on these worlds kits (shame really).
She'll be sorted soon though, Looking forward to posting pics when it starts coming together.
Keep'em coming. :)
