Anybody know what tyres people are running on the fronts today?. They look like staggers from what I can see???.
Or if not staggers,slim spikes.

Just seen Matt's car on silverstone thread....Cut staggers!!!.

PaulUpton 23-02-2014 07:58 PM

Most people lost there man bits and went staggers even me

freddie 23-02-2014 08:18 PM

brooksy 23-02-2014 08:19 PM

Been watching the racing all weekend, some top racing, especially today in 4wd. I would have thought staggers would have given you way too much front end on astro?.

Looks like a good weekend was had by all. Excellent track.

Great coverage and commentary, watching the slow motion replays of my grip rolling car getting called 'drunk' - car or driver?

TARTMAN 24-02-2014 11:42 AM

AWESOME!!!!!!!!!

Excellent looking track and venue as usual from the Silverstone crew. shame I had to miss it.

the TV coverage was excellent and commentary was great.

well done everyone involved in the event.:woot:

This sort of coverage would be great for the nationals. I know the comments were made, its all down to money but how much are we talking?

I was thinking maybe people wouldn't mind a small premium on the entry fee to cover the cost. I certainly wouldn't, its great watching.

Not only the above but a great way to advertise the sport?

All you need to do is organise rctv guys to be there, and pay thier fee for doing so. Excellent guys and coverage. Plus you need a good internet coverage upload the feed.

poopers 25-02-2014 11:05 PM

I was thinking having RCTV at the oOple Invernational would be awesome, need more 4wd I final action!:D

All I need to do is nothing mate. I was asking the question to the rctv peeps, if they wanted to do it I'm sure they could organise it them selves and I'm sure they would get payment through sponsor although I would pay a fee for each event coverage.
The 1/10th Nats need to get live timing at least

taz5311 26-02-2014 12:59 AM

Davo,
Your quite correct, you don't need to do anything. BUT, wouldn't it be nice for someone else to organise the tv side of things rather than relying on the "same old" crew to do all the organising on top of trying to organise the 'nationals'.
At least drop them a line and tell them about the dates/venues for the nationals and ask if they would be willing to cover them?

Actually you don't even need a good internet feed! as we now own our own satellite uplink system (which we tested last year at the Mendip 1/10th TC national)

So we can stream in HD from anywhere in the UK!

Sounds good there's one step closer

andy110m 26-02-2014 06:46 PM

Hi Nick,

Good to hear the internet isn't a problem anymore. Could you give us an idea of the money required to cover a two day event?

Thanks.

DAVO 26-02-2014 06:56 PM

Don't know much about this but I'm sure the likes of sky and itv pay the sports company's to cover the events not the other way around.i would pay to watch the 1/8th and 1/10th offroad nats coverage as long as it wasn't expensive mabe that's an option.

Hi Davo - sorry to say this just isn't true! in Motorsport outside of F1 and Moto GP virtually nothing in the UK is paid for! ITV is PAID to cover BTCC, not by the main event who give their rights to ITV for free but by all the support races, and it is that money that actually allows ITV to cover the main BTCC races.

Sky no longer carry indycar or NASCAR because they were asked to pay (they did have them free) DTM is placed (they pay TV companies to cover it!) in every country except Germany

WEC / ELMS is given away (though Eurosport do pay for Le Mans)

ITV dropped live Superbikes when they were asked to pay!

And it's not just motorsport - look at sky schedules and outside Football, Rugby, Cricket and Boxing virtually nothing is paid and lots is placed!
