I have heard from a little bird that the tracks are going to be Southport, Bury, Kendle, Barrow, NNRC and Pendle.
Not too sure if this 100% though:confused:

Looks bloody bumpy!! Those 8ths don't look all that stable on there will be tricky with a 2wd!

Haven't we learn't from stoke last year. 1/10th don't go well on 1/8th tracks. Can't handle the bumps and jumps and can they do the doubles. Looks like a lot of breakages to me. Plus how long are the lap times.

johnboy 23-01-2014 10:59 PM

Looking to do the northwest regionals this year but agree NNRC is too bumpy for 10th. Fine for 1/8th so if they do have a round I will miss that one out.

NeilRalph77 24-01-2014 08:09 AM

I quite enjoyed Stoke apart from the mild disorganisation! as for bumps, its offroad as for big doubles, drive them as singles and as for long laps, its still 5 mins the problem's for me came down to visual distance and the 1" gaps between the astro drop a wheel in and you'd quite easily roll take the same but not exact line miss the gap and you'd be fine

At least we can learn from Stoke and hold a 1/10th event before the regional to see what works best, I'd have thought people would be pleased at the variety

birdy 24-01-2014 10:58 AM

Pendle is fine for 10th, in fact it's smoother than most 10th track out there.

Variety = Yes of course

Sending 1/10th cars in the air like 1/8th just makes for a long day and breakages - profile and height of jumps needs to be relavant to 1/10th (I know they are offroad but look at national tracks for guidance)

The track should be do-able for all and enjoyable, cos the faster drivers will still be quicker.

Think its a great idea to host a meeting before as you can work out lap times etc. Be sure to let us all know what are your intensions:lol:

Pendle is really good jamie , yes its a 1/8 th track but the surface is superb and they can cut it short and all jumps are do able

PaulRotheram 24-01-2014 05:26 PM

As nothing official has been posted... this still may not be the case.

However looking at videos of both NRCC and Pendle, i think its ridiculous a 10th meeting is to be held at either.

WHITTLER555 24-01-2014 06:56 PM

Pendle is fine for a 1/10th car, the track has been relaid with new astro and is very drivable.

We ran a meeting there at the end of September and the 2wd cars were as quick as me with my 4wd, maybe I'm getting old!

In my opinion because we were running with the 1/8th cars the track set out was just too big, but with a bit of thought and consideration on the layout it will be fine.

I'm not sure if I'm doing NW or NE this year but if Pendle runs I will probably put an entry in if I'm allowed, it's only 1 mile from my house!

stuart slmcc 24-01-2014 07:19 PM

Hi guys as most of you no its my first year being the North West target. I am just waiting for one club to say when they can fit us in and the list and details will be out asap. If anyone has major issues on venues when the list comes out please see your club rep first or pm me as a public flogging isn't what i signed up for and we are running out of Stuarts lol, I held a vote on the venues and your reps voted where we should be heading this year as after all there representing you and your clubs. The venues have been asked to shorten tracks for 1/10th if there a little on the big side for us.

danDanEFC 25-01-2014 04:33 PM

All good questions and views. Let us see what the calendar is before coming up with problems.

This region has over 120 drivers, so we will never be able to please everyone all the time.

Any issues please speak to the designated NW Region contacts that each of the clubs have.
