fastrax? Poor quality?
Anyone had poor experiences with Fastrax kit?
My 1/8th hauler (new christmas last year) now has a snapped handle and the alloy extending arm has long since given up. (The extruded alloy part just tore as I was walking to a meet) Also the chair I bought to go with it lasted about three meetings before the stitching split... I've seen three others do the same.. Haven't seen any other haulers in the uk the same size, so want to check if I was just unlucky before I go and buy another.. |
Send it back dude there not a patch on the tm ones they copied
|
My chair failed too
|
Fastrax hauler bags are overpriced tat.
Infact, most hauler bags are overpriced - but most are slightly better quality it seems than Fastrax. |

Seriously, best hauler I've owned by miles!! http://insidelineracing.co.uk/images...t/REA-B001.jpg Take a look round it on at Xmas bash  |

Shapes gone on mine too...
Starting to think it needs to go back as not fit for purpose... |
I have a hauler and what a waste of cash. Zip bust so they replaced it, zip went again and couldn't be bothered arguing with the shop again. Now the handle is playing up. Wouldn't touch another.

my hauler handle just snapped leaving my meeting tonight. 6-8 months old. I'm on my second skin, zip bust on the first, which got replaced as it was 6 weeks old. not happy with mine tbh. decent alternatives?
|
I thought they was all the same but ive had my team magic 8th hauler about 5 years
|
Dig deep for a hudy one

On investigation, the outer handle has just collapsed and sheered off at the point it comes through the bag. Just lifted it to take it across the hall I'd been racing in, and it bent up with no effort at all. junk. |
I've had my hauler exactly a year, junk is the best description for it. Very quickly I've had live with a Broken handle, bent metal part on the handle, bust zips, the big back pocket is ripping, it's lost its shape so the drawers can be difficult open. If your in a position to be spending over a £100 on a hauler then I can only reiterate what's been said above, dig a little deeper and get the hudy one. Buy cheap buy twice

I think its what you buy some stuff like the interchangeable hex drivers are really good and some stuff like you describe is quite poor im glad i know this as im after a new hauler
|
I wouldnt bother with any of the RC haulers (apart from the TM F8). Ogio 9800 is very very well made, you can fit a lot of gear in them and they can actually be pulled across rough ground.

Is the TM F8 still available? When I was after a new hauler a few months ago I couldn't find them.
|
Had my JConcepts hauler for the best part of a year now, not a single issue with it. All boxes, handle velcro etc
Can't recommend JConcept one enough tbh |
I've got an ogio but I use it for my riding kit..
Could always buy another I guess.. Kinda like to tool holder that you get with an rc hauler though.. |

Get my hauler and a tool bag, job done!! |
As I was looking to buy a Fastrax Mega Hauler.. im abit put off by this thread. The bag, is perfect for what im after, plenty of space and drawers that are not cardboard.
I currently have the smaller team magic hauler, its done me well, however theres not enough space for my equipment. Has anyone had good experiences with the mega hauler? What would be recommended hauler wise, if not the fastrax? Im not interested in bags, or luggage cases. |
I've just got the hudy bag from MB, it's awesome..
Drawers are not cardboard, they look to be the same plastic as the fastrax and the quality is exceptional. If you can get an older fastrax bag, they have a more durable handle, it's the later extruded aluminium ones that seem to have the problem. Oh, be warned the biggest hudy bag is massive... Wouldn't fit in my v50 estate boot! Gutted as it's like the Cadillac of rc boxes :( |
I got the fastrax mega hauler last Xmas as I said in an earlier post, I really like the layout of it but it is not fit for purpose. It's absolutely knackered one year on and has been for months and months, last weekend the handle completely broke rendering it useless. It's a shame the build quality wasn't executed better.
Earlier this morning I ordered the hudy hauler. It's around 50 quid more than the fastrax from mb models, but if I had ordered that to start with I wouldn't be needing to fork out again this year. My brother has the hudy one and the difference in quality is massive. He too had the fastrax one fall to bits on him. Don't make an expensive mistake. |
As above, now I have a hudy I don't expect to buy again for some time...
I had a team magic f8, but "upgraded" to the fastrax... Wish I hadn't now.. |
My Fastrax has been ok Paul. It is jammed full. Had it about 12 months. Only gets moved twice a month though. I should think that this post will be the beginning of the end now !
