Thought for the week #2

Following on from my last week's ramblings about cats and toast, this week i have come up with a tricky question that has baffled scientists for years! indeed NASA are looking at going to Mars in 2014 to try and find the soloution to this mind boggling question. .....:eh?:
I thought i'd post it on here as you were all so quick in resolving my last "Thought for the week".............

How do "kEEP OFF THE GRASS" signs actually get on the grass ?????

clarey 18-09-2008 08:09 AM

maybe somebody has reaaaaally long arms?

Northy 18-09-2008 08:12 AM

Lee 18-09-2008 08:21 AM

Have you never seen a helicopter hovering above the grass with someone holding another fella by his ankles as he knocks the sign into the ground.

Now we can lock the thread

Team No Idea 18-09-2008 08:43 AM

Im liking the helicopter thing!! reminds me of AIRWOLF ! oh yeah!

Everything baffles NASA.
I mean they spent millions developing a pen for them to write in space (anti gravity and all that)

...why didn't they just use a pencil?:eh?:

As for the keep off the grass, maybe they used a jet pack.:p

Lee 18-09-2008 08:53 AM

why dont the just put the sign at the edge of the grass

It would save the cost of a chopper

then what would happen if you were stood at the other end of the grass, you might not see the sign and therefore may step on the grass

Lee 18-09-2008 09:04 AM

Im going to uese my five mins to the max today G

Who said there could only be 1 sign, 2 signs is less than fuelling a chopper

clarey 18-09-2008 09:05 AM

Northy is that all you think about lol

and councils wouldn't justify the cost of 2 signs if they can get away with 1

Chris Doughty 18-09-2008 09:07 AM

its fairly obvious, maybe I should work for NASA

BEFORE the keep off the grass sign was put in place, there is no reason to keep off the grass, so you simply walk onto the grass and place the sign, then, once you read the sign, you kindly make your way off the grass FOR EVER

dave g 18-09-2008 09:08 AM

maybe it was put there before the grass seed was planted?

or its the moles telling you to 'keep orf their land'

Team No Idea 18-09-2008 09:09 AM

i like it, i like it, but now comes the next stage......
If you now cant go on the grass..... how do you cut it????

dave g 18-09-2008 09:15 AM

easy..the man on the lawnmower is dyslexic so he cant read the sign..or he works for the council so doesnt give a toss :)

clarey 18-09-2008 09:16 AM

nobody ever listens to signs anyway, just look out on the roads

Team No Idea 18-09-2008 09:16 AM

LOL:thumbsup:

Lee 18-09-2008 09:39 AM

It does sound like a council job to me, after many hours of kick off meetings, risk assessments, plans drawn up and several revisions it is decided that it is more cost effective with the hire of a helicopter than to have 2 signs made up and give a man a hammer

raaccyyyyy lllaaddyyyy 18-09-2008 09:43 AM

But the hammering itself would need ANOTHER risk assessment!!!

clarey 18-09-2008 09:50 AM

very true!

Team No Idea 18-09-2008 10:00 AM

Just a quick thought, perhaps the chopper could fly upside down close to the ground and cut the grass!! yay !! although i think the public liability insurance may be a tad high.

that would be fun to watch :D

Lee 18-09-2008 10:11 AM

You really wouldnt say that if you flew in one regularly :o

clarey 18-09-2008 10:13 AM

why wouldnt i?

Lee 18-09-2008 10:15 AM

Because they are not nice, knowing that if it breaks down the chances are you will die, they dont hover very well when the engines stop :(

Team No Idea 18-09-2008 10:15 AM

After a bit of custard cream munching and tea sipping... ive decided that the upside down chopper thing could be a naff idea.
I wouldn't want to risk hitting the KEEP OFF THE GRASS SIGNS seein that we have dedicated a whole morning of waffle to them.

clarey 18-09-2008 10:19 AM

whats your next thought of the week then? Or do we have a wait till next week?

bigred5765 18-09-2008 10:21 AM
