yeah same here.. :D

but will wait till after this weekend. ;)

gonna rearrange the layout on the DD chassis and then run that ;)

The Doctor 04-12-2013 10:27 PM

Good to run as a separate class within Off Road but personally I think it's a bit, well..... Zzzzzzzzz.

I'll be sticking to the 6.5T.

ste_lazzaro 05-12-2013 10:48 PM

Well, yes.. We should put two or three corners more in place of the straight.
And maybe include the tricks we typically have on saturday.. Mattresses, hula hops..
Slow track for slow cars!! :D

The Doctor 06-12-2013 04:08 PM

Stefano my friend, I shall be calling you the "Old Man" soon. Walking in the footsteps of another illustrious Italian, only slower.

ste_lazzaro 06-12-2013 05:49 PM

Who is this? Who's faster than me?!?!

I already feel pretty old.. this was the knockout..

;)

Look at the avatar, a little Audi.

ste_lazzaro 06-12-2013 11:58 PM

Aaaah! .. Yes, he's faster.. Magic 46!

The Doctor 08-12-2013 04:59 PM

C'mon guys, surely you know that a certain Mr. Ferrari was known as "The Old Man"? Not sure I see too many similarities between Enzo and Stefano though - unless Enzo once had a goatee in his early days?

siddus74 08-12-2013 08:27 PM

I guess I could put a 13 and some venoms on my tm2, I hope you boys will run both classes and not anandon the clubman :-(

Scott

Dave Dodd 08-12-2013 08:50 PM

Don't worry this class will run along side off road all together.
Will hopefully have mine ready for Friday. :D

siddus74 08-12-2013 09:07 PM

I'll try and get mine sorted, be disapointing if the clubman lads bail

The Doctor 08-12-2013 09:35 PM

I think Clubman will continue to be strong - there are enough people just wanting to run their vintage cars to keep a heat going, I'm sure. And we need somewhere for the new starters to race when they turn up with something that doesn't fit into the more established classes.

siddus74 08-12-2013 09:43 PM

Valid point, glad the class is safe :-)

Dave Dodd 11-12-2013 11:05 AM

Trials for this class will start this Friday,
just let me know at race control if you wish to be a part of it :D
This will be part of heat 1 off road.
13.5bl motor or slower, blinky esc or zero timing.

All classes will run as normal

Dave Dodd 15-12-2013 08:50 PM

Core esc in blinky worked well in the buggy, 27/80 gearing. Looking forward to next round. Nice cheap racing

siddus74 15-12-2013 11:35 PM

Where would one get venoms from? and what compound is working for you Dave?

Scott.

Get them from Dave in White compound.

Dave Dodd 16-12-2013 10:30 PM

Yeah have the venom whites in stock.

cunawarit 17-12-2013 09:40 AM

OK guys, I've decided to give this a go with a basic brushed sealed can setup to see how it goes. Will start out with a sealed can 23 or 21 motor... Equivalent to a Tamiya black can I guess.

dicky14 17-12-2013 11:17 AM

Hi Scott ive got a set of mounted whites for a tm2 if you want to borrow on friday:thumbsup:

msmith105e 17-12-2013 09:42 PM

suppose i might drag the electrics out of my 'dave and give it a go

cunawarit 17-12-2013 10:28 PM

I'll aim to give it a go this Friday sans-transponder... Need to change the settings on the Losi for the Venons and anyway, my PT is deep inside the TL01 chassis under all my electronics... Points don't matter on the last race of the series anyway :D

I can't wait to do off-road at sensible speeds.

siddus74 18-12-2013 05:51 PM

Thanks Dickie ... not sure I can make it this week .. but surely in the new year. Ta

Scott

Dave Dodd 18-12-2013 08:10 PM

Brilliant, be good to get a few more going round.

siddus74 18-12-2013 11:55 PM

Dickie may be able to make it. will only have a 21.5 installed if I can but if you bring those tyres just incase that would be great ... I presume they will fit a tm2?

Scott

emtee 19-12-2013 12:07 AM

Hi y'all.. wish I lived a bit closer to you guys, this sounds like it could be a lot of fun!!! Keep the forum posted as to how things went.. I love stock(ish..) heats... in any car!! :D:thumbsup:

cunawarit 20-12-2013 11:20 AM

Turns out I can't use a sealed can motor on the Losi, it won't fit. I've fitted the slowest rebuildable motor I have... a 15T! Will have to do for today, not going to run a transponder anyway.

Shouldn't be too fast anyway, the brushes are over 10 years old :)

siddus74 20-12-2013 01:59 PM

Can any body do me a set of the rear soft white venoms for tonight? I have some rims :-)

Scott.

The Doctor 20-12-2013 04:30 PM

Gui's having my set of Whites. I have some Yellows and Silvers if you want to try them, but the whites are better.

siddus74 20-12-2013 05:20 PM

Ive got some lined up hopefully (thanks to Richard), but all I could find to power my buggy was 1 21.5  so I think its going to be really, really slow ...

Ill run it around the track and make my decision based on that ...

Scott.

Dave Dodd 14-01-2014 10:24 PM

Anyone else wishing to give stock buggy a go. It's not an official class yet so there is no motor ruling just venom white slicks. I would suggest 13.5 or similar with zero timing on esc or even a brushed setup.
It's fun, teaches throttle control and really cheap on tires, I'm using practically slick low pro cut staggers on the front(not that there is much left) additives are not essential but do help in the early stages.
As does using a slightly tighter diff setting otherwise you may spin up the inside wheel in the corners (even with a slower motor)

cunawarit 14-01-2014 10:43 PM

I can attest that it is lots of fun and more of a challenge than using pins.

The lil 12T motor was kind of ballistic down the main straight, next time I'll remember to set it up with zero timing. I'm enjoying the Mardave for now, but this series I'll do a few rounds of stock buggy... The Losi handled the low grip tyres better than I thought it would :)
