This friday, I will be racing.......

.......you will have to guess:D

siddus74 01-12-2013 09:33 PM

Go on then do share ...

Chris56 01-12-2013 09:37 PM

Its retro, Tamiya, and should look good alongside your Holiday Buggy

The Doctor 01-12-2013 11:05 PM

The mind boggles, it could be anything.

I'm taking the kids to Bingham Christmas Fair so I'll not be racing this Friday (there goes all chance of qualifying again), but will be ready to go on Saturday morning.

Just been looking at the KF on the Schumacher website and now need to wipe the dribble off the keyboard. C'mon Santa! :wub

cunawarit 02-12-2013 12:24 AM

If it is a Dyna Blaster I see a Rustler in my future :)

Chris56 02-12-2013 08:48 AM

A bit before the Dyna Storm, closer to your Traxxas but will still probably be beaten by it!!

cunawarit 02-12-2013 09:42 AM

It could be anything, a Bear Hawk would be cool though :) Always liked the scale looking shell on that.

The Bandit's advantage is that the huge steel gears can take a V8 in terms of power.... But limit the motors and I think the Tamiya's could give it a challenge if not beat it. The Bandit isn't exactly a feather weight.

siddus74 02-12-2013 10:15 AM

Does this mean I need to bring the thundershot then lads?

Scott.

Chris56 02-12-2013 10:46 AM

Bearhawk is closest guess so far (im actually watching one on ebay at the moment), though it is more of Thundershot era, won't be as quick as the Thundershot though - I would like to race against your Thundershot with my Manta Ray when I've finished it.

siddus74 02-12-2013 10:56 AM

Let me know when its ready and chuck an esc and stuff in the thundershot

Scott.

cunawarit 02-12-2013 10:59 AM

It really could be anything... Tamiya has released a bazillion chassis and a bazillion models per chassis.

PS: Fox?

And thats why im watching a bazillion items on the bay at the moment!!

PS, a Fox is even closer, would like one but they are quite expensive at the moment.

One more clue, its got the rear axle from your Camaro and has a sting in its tail!

cunawarit 02-12-2013 12:02 PM

HORNET!!!! Cool :)

Chris56 02-12-2013 12:27 PM

1984 original too!

cunawarit 02-12-2013 12:45 PM

It takes a brave soul to race that. What motor are you going to use? Castle Mamba Monster and 6S?

Chris56 02-12-2013 12:55 PM

Now there's an idea!

Definately something silver - probably a 27t. Don't think its ballraced so will take it very carefully

The Doctor 02-12-2013 03:16 PM

I raced an original Grasshopper a few years ago when we ran a "vintage" series. That thing jumped like a brick and landed like a meteorite.

Also used to race an original Astute at club level (too many years ago to admit) - loved that car, although there was a "bit" of chassis flex to contend with...

cunawarit 02-12-2013 03:58 PM

I was sent the wrong shell, was supposed to be a red Toyota and ended up with a green Mazda 6 / Dodge Stratus thingy... :-/

http://i1067.photobucket.com/albums/...ps6928a61d.png

Looks like it belongs in the touring car class :(

siddus74 02-12-2013 04:02 PM

Thats nasty  ..

if you put that in the clubman, ill boycot the race

PS dont think I can make this Friday, they put in rotherham on a friggin friday!!!!!!!!

Oh, the Hornet ---- friggin love it! -Yes the back end will be jumping around like th BIT**, but yeah - ill dig the TShot out - may even try and get a new body for it?

Scott.

Sweet! Might be an easy way to beat you!

Chris56 02-12-2013 08:31 PM

I would mock you for the shell but I have ordered a new Rod Bull Citreon shell for the FF01.

Sorry you can't make it this friday Scott - I am bidding on a few vintage Tamiya buggies at the moment so a race with the Thundershot WILL happen!

siddus74 02-12-2013 09:26 PM

Looking forward to it ... Just boiled the knackered cut staggers of the Holiday buggy from rims ... it was push really bad, so may invest in a new set of high profile stagers ...

Building up the other M06 I got from Nigel at the moment ...

New sham shell ... my FF has the Ken Bloooook shell

Scott.

ste_lazzaro 02-12-2013 09:44 PM

The Hornet!! Great!!
It was the high performance version of the Grasshopper.. For the rich guys!
I started with a Grasshopper loooooong time ago.. And got rid of it after having bashed it almost everywhere..

I will also be off this friday.. The Christmas meals tour has started!:(
But I will be there on saturday!

Paul, the KF is so nice.. Ask Santa for two!!!

The Doctor 02-12-2013 11:03 PM

OK, I'll see if I can exchange the usual socks for 2 KFs. Sounds like a fair deal to me.

siddus74 03-12-2013 09:29 AM

Great RC day in the Quinn houseold, replacement front under bumper arrived today for the 6 wheeler from honkers and the bearing set for the Xmas pressie Brat ...

Also the customer in Rotherham hours are 7:30 > 4:30pm so should be able to make Friday YAY!

TT01 and FF03 - Touring with the boys this week hopefully.

Scott.

It's a shame you have done the body post holes as I would have bought that off you if you had no use for it

cunawarit 03-12-2013 11:33 AM

After I got it I thought I might as well give it a chance. It isn't like they last for ever, five it a month or two and I'll have another more scale looking shell :)

Chris56 03-12-2013 06:31 PM

That shell is so shambolic, even your deans connector wants out :p:p

cunawarit 03-12-2013 09:00 PM

:p

Easy!

I have an unpainted Tamiya shell here, Ferrari 430. And I've requested a shell as an Xmass gift... I suggested a Camaro, but hey, who knows what they will buy for me :)

Chris56 03-12-2013 10:00 PM

cunawarit 03-12-2013 11:16 PM

Time will tell, for now the sham-tourer...

Chris56 05-12-2013 01:35 PM

Sadly, no Hornet this friday but my newly restored Manta-Ray will be making an appearance! Still need new body but chassis/powertrain will be finished tonight ready to run

cunawarit 05-12-2013 01:43 PM

I've just ordered a brand spanking new car :) Will be racing it post Christmas... And it isn't a Tamiya :D

PS: It isn't a Traxxas either! As much fun as the 1/16 Rally VXL would have been 50 MPH+ seemed overkill for Clubman ;)

Chris56 05-12-2013 02:13 PM

Does it answer to the name "Dave"?

Failing that, I suspect a 1/12 Yokomo

cunawarit 05-12-2013 02:19 PM

Lol, you got it :) Dave it is.

Chris56 05-12-2013 02:32 PM

Nice one! I've just ordered an F103 and a TA02

cunawarit 05-12-2013 03:37 PM

TA01 and TA02? hehe, they are nearly the same car :) Aren't they?

Chris56 05-12-2013 04:14 PM

They look the same but are actually different in every way apart from the transmissions (TA02 has rear ball diff). Will proably use the TA02 for parts or sell

cunawarit 05-12-2013 04:36 PM

No TL01 yet? You could try the TL01LA, it is supposed to be a handler stock. Unlike the normal TL01.

Dave Dodd 05-12-2013 04:57 PM

This Friday I will be racing my x2c in its normal form with slicks. :)
