my other question would be to that
4 this weekend, moving to 6 regulary, can the club afford to turn £20 to £30 down in race fee's for not allowing lipo?

Plus the others such as chris who wont go?

honestly im not sure i can understand the rules of club, allow ib4200 which have record of damging items and people, not allow lipo which dont have saftey failures within the brca sections using them?

ps we all have our lipo bags for worksop so would use them if need be?

it's all in there guys.

It's down to the commitee whether too allow Lipos or not, and for some reason they have decided against the idea even though some of them still ran them at the club?
Now I don't know why this is, but they have decided. and rules are rules i'm afraid.
Unless there has been an update in the past week?
Sorry guys.
:)

johnboy 15-09-2008 09:02 PM

andy there is no rule anywhere saying lipo's are not allowed . word of mouth i feel isnt good enough to go by.

Some of us have a Lipo only car now mate. Others may only have Lipo's to run at club level only - not doing regionals, such as me this winter.

Yes I have cells still, and they fit my 2wd, but I want to/need to run my Cat SX.

Im not trying to upset people, i didnt know that people had bought cars that only take lipo's, if i've upset any1 then i appologize but you do have to respect the clubs wishes after all you really have to be thankfull that there's a club to go to with such a good and large venue, with so many clubs struggerling n all,
Sorry Chris

I really don't believe what I read on here sometimes.

Does a club have to have a rule book printed and given out to every member? Would you like to do it?

So the word of a committee member is not good enough then? Maybe you would like to take my place at the AGM - I'll put you forward for it.

Chrislong 16-09-2008 08:38 AM

Hey Gaz, you didn't upset me, you asked a good question and I answerred it. I intend on going still this weekend, will take 2wd and cells too and no matter what will be able to race - just I do need to race the SX.

I agree, York is a great club and I am a member of it, love racing there - not only is it a great venue, but they build great tracks and the people are great.

Will you be there Gaz? or is Teesside still Saturday nights?

Yeah you greedy git! I went down to MB on Saturday to buy one and Bally told me you'd bought all his stock :woot:

Chris/Mark, just run them anyway. There isn't a written rule anywhere saying you cant run them and last week probably a third of the people there were running LiPo's, I know I will be :)

I agrea with yah G,
I cant believe that people dont take the word of a committee member about whats said and wanted for the club, after all they do all the ground work behind the scene:confused:

Oh yes, I was decorating and distracted last week - will reply.

Good move on the X-6, it is the best 2wd and the UK national champ. I am not a team driver for X-factory any more but will always help out mate, no worries. :)

Richard Lowe 16-09-2008 09:05 AM

Gaz, not all the committee are saying the same thing re LiPo's.

Who's that then Rich?

It was agreed at the committee meeting they would not be allowed. I give up.

G

Lee 16-09-2008 09:38 AM

If we dont have to listen to the commitee regarding lipo`s can we haggle on the price and what way we go round the track as well

sorry lol i did pre order em

jimmy 16-09-2008 10:05 AM

What's the reason lipo aren't allowed again? I'm not interested in a "because we say" I just wanted to know the actual reason is all.

jimmy 16-09-2008 10:07 AM

What constitutes a 'lipo sack' - can I just put a potato sack over my car or is it something more high-tech than that?

ben 16-09-2008 10:09 AM

A potato sack should be more than enough protection:woot:

Lee 16-09-2008 10:14 AM

mine are getting wrapped in a string vest, i think that should suffice

No, thats just silly. You have to stand in the sack while your charging, thats right isn't it?

i would g if i was able to make the agm but cant go iam at my sister's wedding . i just think not allowing lipo is backwards . i got lipo because they were in use last winter and the clubs website doesnt say we cant use lipo, it was only 2 weeks ago that anyone mentioned that lipo are not allowed nothing was ever mentioned at all last year.

Medders 16-09-2008 12:04 PM

Isn't this an issue for the BRCA rarther than York committee:eh?:

Since York, as I'm sure many clubs do, run under the BRCA insurance they cannot allow Lipo until BRCA approve them in that class. Otherwise if an lipo related incident should happen, whether it be by a battery failure itself OR a lipo powered car who would be liable if the insurance won't pay out?

Lee 16-09-2008 12:08 PM

no the insurance company do not specify what cells you run,

it is the committee`s decision i think its fairly simple too its not like its a big grey area and its not like you can mix them up, one requires a sack to be charged the other requires a bunker.

Northy has lipo cells he is itching to use, as i am but i can accept the current rules of any club its really not that difficult boys

The clubs website also doesn't say:

You can't take a shit on the floor.
You can't punch the race director in the neck.
You can't set fire to someones car if they are faster than you.
You can't run a nitro car in the hall.
You can't run 20 cells.
You can't fly planes around inside the hall.
etc
etc

Not a valid argument.

Anyway - as I said in another post - don't shoot the messenger, I am only relaying what was said at the committee meeting.

G

Lee 16-09-2008 12:51 PM

I didnt even know it had a website
