8th December Christmas Race Meeting!

8th December - put it in your diaries now.
It's Caldicot RC Racer's annual Christmas race! There may be mince pies, but there will definitely be plenty of racing for 10th and Micros :D
(it's also just before our Micro national in January so feel free to come and practice!)

More details for our Xmas Meeting this Sunday:
9.30 doors open
10ish racing starts - Micros, 10th 2wd, 4wd, trucks and vintage heats.
4 rounds and a final minimum, aiming to finish by 4.30 - Entry £10 for as many classes as you want.
Tea, coffee, hotdogs, soft drinks, crisps and choc available

NO PARKING in the street please, we should all be able to fit into the carpark ok, if not then I'll have the key to the base so we can use that as an overflow carpark.
Entries to [email protected] please

And finally - once we've finished racing the WRCA AGM will be held, please hang around for that if you are interested in racing in Wales next year.

zoaman 05-11-2013 11:03 PM

Pete i know it a bit early yet but can you let us know when the brca and the club fees are due, including forms ect. just a thought so i can save my pennies ready.cheers

mrspeedy 11-11-2013 04:20 PM

Ooh .. fav meeting of the year

How about a truck class just to add to the general mayhem ? I'm sure we can drum up a few West Country truckers !!

peetbee 12-11-2013 07:24 AM

Round em up Si, if we have enough for a heat we'll run them!

brian s 12-11-2013 07:18 PM

more truck mayhem then, can you get more than eleven trucks in one heat ??

mrspeedy 13-11-2013 02:27 PM

Pretty sure its been done before at Caldi .... back in the good old days :p

slimracer 13-11-2013 11:47 PM

IM IN FOR TRUCKS AND MAYBE FREDDY AND KEV AND ANDY AND NICK
WHO ELS ?

peetbee 19-11-2013 01:00 PM

If you're interested in racing on the 8th please send your details to [email protected] so that I can get the heats sorted.

J'MM'N 19-11-2013 01:55 PM

What about vintage, that's cars not the mince pies :)

peetbee 19-11-2013 03:42 PM

If we can get enough cars for a heat then yes, vintage too!

Come and race indoors, don't worry about the weather or having to clean your car! :D

Teaboy 19-11-2013 06:05 PM

Yes im up for vintage that day, put me down for micro as well. Normal club booking in details for me.

I guess the question is how many vintage cars can i race in one day!!!

Cheers

Rich

peetbee 19-11-2013 08:19 PM

Well assuming 4 rounds and a final I would hazard a guess at 5 maximum Rich!

And just in case anyone missed it earlier:

Don't rely on me spotting a forum post if you want to enter please!

brian s 21-11-2013 09:24 AM

pete, has the hall been booked all weekend so the track from friday will be used ,or is a different track for sunday being built on the saturday

blue_pinky 21-11-2013 10:39 AM

We've not got that far in planning really...but I'd suggest we'll be changing the track for Sunday...we'll probably switch to the bigger track size for Sundays extravaganza!!! :woot::D

mrspeedy 26-11-2013 01:18 PM

I've just had confirmation from Yatton club that we can go ahead and consider the truck races to be the final round of Yattons truck championship ... I know it won't effect everyone running trucks but there are quite a few Caldi regulars that came down to race in the truck championship so mad as it may seem having the final round there should make sense :p

zoaman 03-12-2013 11:10 AM

HI PETE IS THERE A TIME SCHEDULE FOR START AND PACK DOWN.

RogerM 03-12-2013 12:56 PM

What is the latest I can book in for this? I'm waiting on a new car and if it all hangs together I'll be wanting to run 2wd on Sunday.
Cheers

peetbee 03-12-2013 02:33 PM

Looking at doors open at 9.30, racing start 10am with at least 4 rounds and a final for everyone.
I'll in the kitchen sorting teas, coffees and hotdogs plus the usual soft drinks choc and crisps.

As long as you can drop me an email by Saturday am I can try and sort the heats properly, but if you just turned up on the day we're not going to turn anyone away :)

RogerM 04-12-2013 01:54 PM

Cheers, if its not finished by friday I'll not be making it anyway :)

pete, can you book martyn and ellis in for sunday, both running 2WD.
cheers

peetbee 06-12-2013 10:47 AM

Will do Bri.
Anyone else? :)

RogerM 06-12-2013 12:50 PM

Please add me, Roger Mills, to 2wd, PT 267123. Ability wise last time I was indoors with Mr Belsten he was about 0.5s/lap quicker but I hope to close that with my new car :)

All I have to do is finish it......

RogerM 06-12-2013 04:38 PM

Tire choice

What tires are needed for your track? Any control tires? Preferences?

Just thinking about what to glue up as my tire glue is sloooooooooow to cure.

shaungooner 06-12-2013 05:43 PM

Yellow pins all round for me Roger, low pro staggers for front as an option. What's the new car?

Belsten 06-12-2013 11:50 PM

You are using the wrong glue then mate :o

shaungooner 07-12-2013 10:07 AM

if you're coming tomorrow would you bring me some glue please Dave?

GRIFF55 07-12-2013 03:05 PM

Roger Roger Roger......tut tut, thought you would have learned by now. The only glue to use is nuclear RC . Tires never come off ( unless you drink Stella and can't remember if you've glued them or not!:p)
And it goes off in seconds!
I'm sure nobjockey, oh sorry, I mean belsten can bring you some;)

colsey2009 07-12-2013 03:21 PM

space ?

hi are you all booked up for tomorrow or is there still spaces ?

Dyna 07-12-2013 04:15 PM

2wd as my main please.

Micro hopefully, but will have to finish it there first as Mikes got the last bits i need - motor, receiver, bodyshell, wing etc etc....

And i'm bringing the Predator as Craig wants to rag around it in 4wd for a round or two. As there probably wont be many 4wds we'll just join in if and when we are able.

peetbee 07-12-2013 08:22 PM

Plenty of spaces :)

Booked you into 2wd Matt. Are you booking in to run 4wd too?
Can't just jump into random races!!

Dyna 07-12-2013 09:17 PM

Thought this was a easy-going Xmas fun meet, didnt think it was going to be that serious... :o

Tell you what Pete, to save you any hassle ill just pop down in the morning and see whats what and go from there :)

peetbee 07-12-2013 09:41 PM

Matt, it's not that serious, but it might make the difference in the number of heats that I setup - we don't want the track too crowded, that's not fair on anyone!

Dyna 07-12-2013 09:49 PM

No i do see your point Pete... my apologies, not knowing the numbers i kind of assumed it would be ok, i didnt realise we had that many entries !

Pull me out of 2wd, ill pop down in the morning as ive got a few things to buy off people anyway, and ill get the micro ready for the next clubnight :)

peetbee 07-12-2013 09:56 PM

Now you're just confusing me! I thought you were running 2wd anyway with the others being extra!:woot:

peetbee 08-12-2013 08:14 PM

Make thank you to everyone who raced today, great to see you all and hope you all had a great time.
