It's nice JP that you do a recap of the most important info from the euroindoorrace.com site in this thread, but
you probably forgot the most important part of it all and that is: there is a mandatory(6mik) tire to be used on this event, and this tire is not really widespread. My guess is that a lot of drivers were not aware of this at the moment of inscription, even though it was stated on the dedicated euroindoorrace.com website

Is there any data on the tire ?

What compound works best (Bleu or Purple) and how long do they last ?

And will they be available at the race ?

spenner 12-11-2013 10:58 PM

Only just noticed this, if anyone has run these tyres what is the feedback. As Janus says, how long do they last and which compound do we require? Also what tyre for 2wd front?

A few of us are holding fire on this event now till we get some info..

Thanks

chuckie stella 12-11-2013 11:05 PM

Will there be a set I could try this weekend?

The 6Mik tire rule was added later, before the only reference for rules was FBA rules ( which means Schumacher Spike 2 )

frefon 13-11-2013 07:12 AM

For 6mik tires, blue compound is the best (purple is too hard)

mr. ed 28-11-2013 07:32 PM

According to the 6mik website the indoor compounds are still under development???

In the belgian distributor list I noticed this email adres: [email protected]. Now is mister Mikovic always at the EIR, and I assume he will probably carry a large stock of tires for sale

rcpower 29-11-2013 09:02 AM

I don't want to be rude and I appreciate all the people that put such an event together and respect their efforts (a lot), but I still don't think this was a good idea. I know from a lot of people they were not aware of this...

I think it's time for some extra info about this particular race and these tires, don't you?

- Is the MiniSpike2 going to be forbidden at this race? Yes or No?

- Was this "exotic, not widely distributed" control tire rule added before or after the inscriptions?

The EIR race has always been a very well organized event, which attacts lots of (inter)national racers from all over Europe. I bet my (inscription)money on it, that a fair amount of racers will just pass on it, because of the tires... at least I will.

It would be a shame the minispikes2 would be forbidden, as I mainly participate this race as a training for belgian/dutch championship.
When the race is fully booked, and it's 6mik only, I will consider the leave my place to somebody else.

JustARcFan 29-11-2013 10:34 AM

I have the same feeling on this tyre as you guys.

2 spots will be free if we can't use the minispike2.

Answer-RC-Pete 29-11-2013 10:35 AM

Though I cant comment on tyres choice for this race, the 6MIK crunch is be becoming more widespread.

We have a small sample batch leaving this week from 6MIK which a few UK guys will lbe testing (Both Purple and Blue) with a view to us carrying them in the UK and making available through the usual stockists for the EIR and for general use.

eNick 04-12-2013 10:58 AM

Hi All,

Where to buy\order these bloody 6MIK tires and which compound-model of it, guys ?
I am also disappointed about tires.

Agree to have it highlighted somehow in advance as the really significant change in EIR rules. I had almost finished my order of shumacher tires for EIR and luckily was able to cancel the order after occasionaly noticed 6MIK requirement at this forum.

janus_77 24-12-2013 10:48 AM

Any info on tire life ?

How many heats can you do on a set of bleu's ?

mr. ed 25-12-2013 10:51 AM

How much overhang do these tires have? I mean, how much do they protrude from the sidewalls of the rim?
I'm worried about the width of my car with those tires mounted.

I was told about 20 min in total. Like four races.
There available blue and a bit harder purple compound.

What about front tires for 4WD buggy - blue or purple ? Any ideas or experience already ?

but....... 20 minutes for humans means about 4 to maybe 5 for my driving ;-)

JustARcFan 14-01-2014 09:12 AM

What's the deal with the standard inserts?

Seems that they are very hard and heavy. :eh?:

janus_77 19-01-2014 01:58 PM

sigh............ double dotted tires

Does anyone else have this ? A purple dotted tire with a bleu dot later placed over it :eh?:

(note: they were sold as bleu's)

JustARcFan 19-01-2014 04:37 PM

I have a set with a red dot and also blu added over it?

janus_77 20-01-2014 03:10 PM

I contacted 6Mik, here is the reply:

Quote:

Dear Arjan,

Well…

To be honest, a little series of Crunch tires which have been marked during the "2013 Christmas Race" event in Paris. We took back the rest of the not used tires for that event, and we actually applied a new Blue dot ourselves.

We suppose the race organizers did not have blue color to apply during that race, and they put a "PINK" one to make them recognized (maybe not a good color choice…) but we can assure you they are 6MIK genuine "BLUE" compounds (with a Pink dot under…).

We are sorry of such an issue, but we have currently so many requieries, that it was obvious to sell all the samples we have in stock (even those ones…).

We apologized for the convenient.

Very best regards,

Manuel AUBOURG

rcpower 27-01-2014 03:11 PM

Great news!!!

Bonjour, Hello

Due to a technical problem on their injection molding machine 6mik can provide the quantity for the day of the race at the Arena.
We have taken the decision to allow the tires 6mik Crunch AND Schumacher Minispike yellow, for both categories

Bien à vous
Best regards
JP

JustARcFan 27-01-2014 05:49 PM

eNick 04-02-2014 06:31 AM

Where is photos ?

Did anybody posted photos\videos somewhere ?

mr. ed 07-02-2014 06:16 PM

Does anybody know which site/magazine the professional photographer was working for?
